Hermann Buchner, born in Austria, was a former German Luftwaffe fighter ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II.
Buchner is credited with 46 tank victories and 58 aerial victories, including 12 while flying the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter, accumulated in 631 combat missions.

The first is the Bf 109 E7 from 8./SchG1, Crimea 1942, it´s the plane with which Herrmann Buchner flew his first combat mission ever.
The Bf 109 E7, code "T", was flown by Herrman Buchner on 21 September 1942 from Tusow. It was the 215th and last operational flight with a 109 by Buchner. The day before he had engaged Soviet P40 for the first time. After that SchG 1 was requipped with Fw-190A.
