B-17D Assorted Skin Pack

Author Jarink
Description The early B-17 models were revolutionary in their design as a high altitude, long range bomber, through the use of innovative (for the time) turbo-superchargers. This allowed them to fly higher and farther than any other service bombers of the pre-war era. In its first combat missions with the RAF, the B-17C (Fortress I) was essentially a failure. Even though later models were far better suited to combat, many pilots felt the early "sharktails" were much more enjoyable to fly.

This skinpack includes paint schemes for a variety of B-17Bs, B-17Cs and B-17Ds that were used for testing (Wright Field, Alaska Cold Weather, Captured), prewar (32nd BS skins, 88th Recon Squadron), and operationally (RAF skins, Hawaii depot camo, Swoose). Blanks and "No Marks" generics are also included.
