The 43th Bomb Group was one of the loner-serving heavy bomber groups in the Pacific theater. The group started out equipped with the B-17, but was re-equipped with B-24 Liberators by September of 1943. The group is probably best known for the huge, colorful nose markings carried on many of their aircraft late in the war.
