Capt W. J. Swendner and 1Lt. D. A. Buttell Jr. fires a sparrow at a North Vietnamese MiG-21. Minutes later they shot down a MiG-21 with a AIM-9 Sidewinder shot.
Jupiter 01 was a F-4C belonging to the 35 TFW, 480th TFS wearing a well weathered cammouflage scheme that is already showing the previous grey pattern adopted by the USAF in 1965.
Later that year this aircraft was lost due to AAA while being flown by another crew.
Capt Swendner kill was the 11th MiG kill of the war.
