I have uploaded my Platzschutzstaffel Pitomnik mission pack for BoS (13 missions + 8 skins).
The Platzschutzstaffel (airfield defence squadron), commanded by Hauptmann Rudolf Germeroth, was a detachment of volunteers from Jagdgeschwader 3, based at Pitomnik airfield inside the Stalingrad pocket between 12 December 1942 and 16 January 1943. The unit's primary task was to protect the airfield and the transport planes bringing supplies and evacuating the wounded, but also freehunt and reconnaissance escort missions were flown. Due to the lack of spare parts and the harsh conditions at Stalingrad often not more than three Bf-109s were serviceable at the same time and many missions were flown by just two planes. Nonetheless the units pilots claimed more than 100 Soviet aircraft shot down during this time.
On 16 January 1943 Pitomnik was captured by the Red Army and the men of the Platzschutzstaffel escaped to Gumrak airfield. Over the following days the pilots were evacuated by plane, but most of the ground crews were left behind and became prisoners when the 6th Army surrendered on 2 February 1943.
The following missions are available:
01. Transfer into the Stalingrad pocket (16 December 1942)
02. Kurt Ebener's most sucessfull day - Part 1 (19 December 1942)
03. Kurt Ebener's most sucessfull day - Part 2 (19 December 1942)
04. Georg Schentke's final mission (25 December 1942)
05. Defend Pitomnik (28 December 1942)
06. Patrol over Pitomnik (30 December 1942)
07. Transfer to Tatsinskaya (3 January 1943)
08. Patrol over Baburkin (10 January 1943)
09. Operation Koltso (10 January 1943)
10. General Pickert (12 January 1943)
11. Unteroffizier Eisele's last flight (14 January 1943)
12. Protect the transport planes (15 January 1943)
13. Escape from Pitomnik (16 January 1943)
The mission pack is no longer available and has been replaced with a campaign:

9 years agoThu Jan 21 2016, 10:21amAdminI have uploaded the 1.1 version of the mission pack.
What's new?
- One new mission.
- A new Bf-109G2 skin.
- Briefings are now available in German too.
- Numerous minor improvements to existing missions.
- Some changes to the briefings.
The new mission, called "Operation Koltso", has many random elements and will be different everytime it's played. For me this is a test to see how well such highly randomized missions work. Maybe I will use the concept in the future in a new mission pack.

AdminI've uploaded the 1.3 version.
It's just a small update, with a few bug fixes and minor improvements.
People who play the game in Spanish and French will now see the English briefing text and some of the missions should run slightly better on older systems. The debriefing screen was reworked and it will now also appear after a crash landing. -
Level 1Thankyou for the update! and all the hard work
Cheers Dakpilot -
AdminI've uploaded the 1.3.1 version of the Platzschutzstaffel pack.
http://www.axis-and-...ad.php?view.913
There's only one change in version 1.3.1, the missions are now also available in Russian too. The translation was done by Warhamm.
Everyone who already had the pack installed previously and now wants to play the missions in Russian, has to delete the 'mtreecache' file in the 'IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data' folder. The 'mtreecache' file saves the mission names and briefing texts. When the game is started after deleting it, a new file will be automatically created and the Russian briefings should now be visible.
