Greetings All,

I have some great Emel skins for the La-5 but I wondered if anyone else was interested in taking a crack at this a/c. My interest is more in the early '42-'43 era (before the standard grey schemes ruled the day) and to have some winter skins would much appreciated. I really enjoy flying the La-5 & hoped that one of you talented skinners could provide some quality skins to increase the available selection for the community. I've always been surprised that this aircraft/era has gotten so little attention.

I know you guys already have lots on your plate- so thanks for taking the time to consider my request.

Good to see you here! I'm not sure if I'm the guy to talk to about VVS skins...I have Jadehawk's old La5 template and it's an aircraft that I've been meaning to skin for ages (we're talking at least 4-5 years now). For some reason, I just never seem able to commit to a specific scheme. If you have any references/profile art of what you would like for your collection, please post them in this thread.

It may take me a while to work on them (got several pokers in the fire right now ), but I'd be happy to take a stab at making some skins for you.

If anybody else hasn't got any projects going on right now, let's help out an old pal from the M4T days!

Thanks for your enthusiastic response- it's great to have you back up & at 'em! I know that all you guys have WIPs & probably a hefty list of what's next- but if anyone would be interested in the project I would be very grateful. Surely everyone could use a couple new La-5 skins! Finding good pics/profiles has proven to be quite challenging but here are some ideas:







The pics are pretty rough- and I can't vouch for the authenticity of the profiles, of course- but I like each of the schemes.

I know Emel is busy with school- but he may have some reference material that would be helpful- since he has worked on the La-5 before. I did come across the following item about VVS camo that might be of interest:
