12 years agoFri Oct 25 2013, 12:33pmAdminHere's another WIP project for Asura's new DGen. A campaign for the Hungarian 101st 'Puma' Fighter Group on the Balaton map. The 101st Fighter Group was formed in May 1944 to defend Hungarian territory against attacks by the 15th U.S. Air Force. Later the unit fought against the advancing Red Army and was involved in the last German offensive 'Operation Spring Awakening'.
There will be four sub-campaigns:
1. May-August 1944
2. September-November 1944
3. January 1945
4. February-April 1945
Flyable planes are the Bf-109G6, Bf-109G6 late, Bf-109G10 and Bf-109G14.
The first two sub-campaigns are against the 15th U.S. Air Force. The third sub-campaign takes place in January 1945 during Operation Konrad, when German and Hungarian forces tried to break the encirclement of Budapest. The final part of the campaign shows the last German offensive in Hungary and the Soviet counter attack.
Some might wonder why I have started a campaign project for an old map, now that we have the possibility to add new maps to DGen that weren't usable before. The campaign is actually an old project I had started nearly four years ago. It was never completed, because in the old DGen it never worked as intended. I am glad that it can be finally finished thanks to the new DGen.
