The first two photos are taken about 5/10 seconds apart, taken on August 4th 1944.
Lt Walsh's aircraft is surrounded by flak on a raid to Rouen.

It suddenly went up, and when it came back in to view,this was the result!

Two crew bailed, however Lt Walsh was KIA.
