Pilot - Capt.Steve N.Pisanos ('The Greek'). He joined to 334th FS on 24th October 1942 from 71st Sqn, RAF. Shot down in a P-51B on 5th March 1944, evaded and returned on 2nd September 1944. To 67th FW on 9th September 1944. Completed 106 WW2 sorties. He flew this Spitfire with 71st Squadron RAF then with 334th FS.
Below - Spitfire V, originally served with 64 Sq.It was apparently a presentation aircraft and called "Sierra Leone II"
A lend lease it served with the 4th PS

AdminNice stuff Duggy, thanks for this. I haven't paid much attention to US Spits before so I find it quite interesting that none of the PR XIs seem to have an oblique camera fitted.
