11 years agoAdminHi all,
got brand new Photoshop CS6 now and it seems the bright plugin for old CS2 doesn't work with it.
Is there any bright version working with CS 6 , either as plugin (via import -export function) or
aa stand alone utility? How do i exactly use it then?
Thanks a lot, happy new year
and
ATB

11 years agoAdminArmin, sorry I can't verify this, as it's been years since I've done the initial installation, and I'm at work so I can't d/l; but if I remember correctly, just drop this batch file.. http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/downloads/general/12/batchfile-bright-35/ ..into a folder (name it 'Bright'), along with the bright.exe. Click on the batch file, and it will activate bright and convert whatever texture/s you saved into the Bright folder. This is the 'stand-alone' method, and the one I've always used. I keep the folder as part of my routine backup of useful utilities, and simply drag it to whatever drive I have IL2 installed; after conversion, I can drag the skins directly to their corresponding folders in IL2, and not have any 'left-overs' in my bright folder. Hope that helps.
..and Happy New Year to you too mate! -
Main AdminArmin, ich hab ein Bright plugin , welches bei PS CS 5 ohne Probleme arbheitet, probier das mal aus:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/99684525/BRIGHT_plugin4PS7.zip
Die Datei Bright8.BE wird in das Verzeichnis
... \Adobe Photoshop CS 5 prerelease portable multilang\Plug-ins\File Formats
kopiert und los gehts, dann einfach unter Datei exportieren "Bright" anw?hlen
Sorry guys - this is a Bright plugin which is working well with PS CS 5, copy the file into the shown folder and it should work. -
Main Admin... and a happy new year to you all - of course

Level 1Good stuff.
I have a copy of Bright as well and I'm using CF6 -
11 years agoThu Jan 03 2013, 10:06amAdminHi all and thanks for your advice. However my old bright photoshop plugin doesn't work with the 64bit version of CS6, it doesn't even appear in the file export men? options.
PS CS6 32bit does work well with it. So it is a problem with the 64bit variant.
So there are two options:
Converting the files (after finished in 64bit) by opening with 32bit Photoshop and using the bright plugin or installing the independent bright (batch) file and running the skin through it.
@Chris
Could you email your working batch file to me?
@Rudi thank you very much for this description.
@Boelcke
It works (like my own plugin) with the CS2 and CS6 32bit, but it doesn't show up with CS6 64bit.
BTW CS6 is very much slower opening large .psd-files than my old CS2!

Hello and a Happy New Year to all. Not an expert in computer/software issues but this might be a memory related problem. Check from PS/edit/preferences/performance if the RAM settings are in optimum settings.

cool tip, thx Marcus, always learning something new again about PS

Level 7Thanks, I'm not absolutely sure of this. Usually the default settings are good enough, so be careful when adjusting settings in PS preferences

11 years agoAdminHi Marcus, the RAM-settings are already at their optimum. It seems to be a widespread and wellknown problem with CS6/64. There are many threads in the Adobe help forums.
