11 years agoMain AdminSpielberg often fly's with Tom Cruise in his P-51, I should imagine it will be a good series, unlike most of the other garbage that is on TV.
-
Oh man, cannot wait for this!

11 years agoAdminAwesome! With these guys involved, I've got high hopes for this one. Thanks for the news Jim.

11 years agoMon Jan 21 2013, 08:23amLevel 1Wow!! keeping my fingers crossed as well.
I have the first two series, however this should be a doozie. Both of these guys know the history as you can tell from their other collaborations. Both Band and Pacific were extremely good not to forget Pvt Ryan. About the best I think one could have put on film.

AdminI am curious to see the flight scenes. I think it's good that it will focus on bomber crews, which will hopefully allow better story telling and less superficial action like in Red Tails.

Just bought the book on my Kindle Fire. So far it is a very amazingly written book.
Definitely has my attention. -
AdminI remember being disappointed that The Pacific only had a few aviation scenes- this has me SO excited!

AdminDamn, that is exciting news!
Sorry to go slightly off topic however this news got me thinking "what the hell happened to the Dambusters remake?", so after a quick google search the latest piece of news I found was from an Empire Magazine interview from December last year:
Plumb: ?What is the current state of the Dambusters project??
Jackson: ?Dambusters is on hold waiting for me to finish The Hobbit. The Hobbit wasn?t something I intended to get involved in [as much] as I did, so there was an option at one stage I?d be shooting The Dambusters while Guillermo [del Toro] was shooting The Hobbit, but as things ended up going, The Dambusters has just had to sit on the sidelines.?
?But it?s there. The Lancasters are built. We?ve got ten Lancs built for us sitting in storage. And it?s ready to go as soon as we possibly can.?
Given that they'll be working on the Hobbit for another two years it may be something of a wait, but hey!, so long as it happens...
