11 years agoTue Jan 22 2013, 12:33pmAnyone know much about OC your CPU?
I followed a guide and have my 1055t now running at 4.0ghz and seems fairly stable. I've had one bluescreen in the last few days with it but want to know is that normal or should I keep tweaking my bios till I never see the blue screen of death? -
11 years agoAdminHi Erik,
You should not be getting any blue screens if you are set up correctly. Even if you've been up and running for a while, occasional BSOD's are a good indicator that something in the system is pushing the envelope, but probably not by much. You probably just need to lessen some speed settings, or possibly increase the v-core (be careful with this one).
I recommend that you run Memtest86, and also run a stress testing program. It's been a while since I last overclocked my cpu, so I don't recall which proggie I used; but have a look at this site, to see what the gurus are using (sorry to refer you elsewhere, but I'm at work): http://www.overclock.net/
Be especially concious of your cpu's v-core voltage, and ensure you have adequate airflow, unless you are using a water cooler or similar setup. If you don't already know, research the v-core and temp limits of your cpu.
Of course there are a lot more considerations, but the link I provided has a wealth of info in their forums, and probably some links to other good resources.
Hope that helps to get you started. ~ Rudi -
Thanks bud.
Temps are good so that isn't the problem, 43-46 Celcius. Currently running my V-Core at 1.42v and probably need to increase it a tad.
I do use CPUID and Hardware Monitor for my information and everything looks good. Ill try upping the voltage and see how it goes.
