Level 1Is anyone willing to try and make some skins for this FG? I think I have the right one, but if not, it's the P-40 group in the CBI theater with the skulls on the noses of their P-40's....Can't find anything anywhere in regards to this FG...kind of weird since it is the coolest paint scheme other than the sharkmouth....

AdminActually, that would be the 80th FG.

11 years agoSat Jun 22 2013, 10:49pmAdminHi Sturmvogel. I agree that the 80th FG and other CBI P-40 units (except the AVG) are quite under-represented despite having some of the coolest nose art.
A question though, are you using mods or a stock installation? With a stock install the P-40M is a great stand in for the P-40N-1 (externally they look exactly the same) which the 80th operated before, and alongside, later versions with the 'glass house' behind the cockpit. IIRC some of the skinners of yore did some 80th FG skins for the M many years ago so they may be floating around at some of the older skinning sites?
If you're modded then I could help you out once I've finished my current Spitfire project. I made a template for the P-40N mod aircraft a little while ago and I wouldn't mind doing some more 80thFG skins...
In case you haven't seen it, I did a N skin pack that has a 80th FG skin in it: http://www.axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/download.php?view.688

Level 1Thanks! I am running an unmodded version patched up to 4.12. Will keep my hopes up that someone will do a small skinpack or something. Thanks, Duggy for the link..

AdminNice links Duggy, thanks. I'd seen the first one but not the second which is great as I can finally get a good look at the artwork on the wheel covers of Adair's first "Lulu Bell" (the one with the bomb carrying bird)!
