AdminFor a mission project I am looking for a late war Mosquito PR XXXIV SEAC skin for the Mosquito IV.
Here two pics how the skin should look:
Is anyone interested in doing the skin? Only a generic version with national markings is needed. -
Level 3The skin you are looking for, by Kristorf, is available for download over at flightsim files.

Level 7I have a Mosquito template. I can do that skin, just tell me what colors are used, upper/under surface, national markings. Any national markings on wing under surfaces?

AdminQuite interesting shots, it look like the Mossies of the 684 Sqn detachment are part way through being repainted to the late war scheme for their type i.e. going from PRU Blue to silver dope. To me it looks like the side and underside of the fuselage and engine nacelles are still blue, and the upper surfaces of at least one aircraft (the horizontal tail surface at the left of the second pic) was still blue.
I had a quick search for Operation Pharos and from what I could see none of the Mossies, Spits or Libs on the Cocos Islands wore the SEAC id bands despite it being in the very late war period and part of South East Asia rather than the SW Pacific.
eMeL, I'd say that they most likely did not have roundels on the underside of the wings. -
AdminWasn't the reason for the aluminum dope on the uppers to reflect more heat from the tropical sun?

11 years agoWed Jul 24 2013, 05:39amAdminYes, what I need are 684 Sqn skins from the detachment on Cocos Island. I found the pics here:

Here are two pics from the same unit, but from India. You will notice, that the India based planes have the SEAC bands.

I think the SEAC skins by Kristorf are all for the Mosquito VI not the IV.

I wonder if it may have also given a slight performance increase as well? PRU blue could and did weather badly and unevenly, so maybe a nice smooth looking coat of silver dope would've added a few mph -
Level 7This is interesting. I have very poor knowledge about markings and paintings and units of the Pacific and all its related fronts. Silver Mosquito's, wow. BTW are those spinners dark blue or black? To me they seem to look 'bluish'...
This is going to be a slight challenge; I need to work the template a little. Juri can you wait, say till this weekend?

Yes, I can. No need to hurry. -
AdminThe spinners on the Mossies in India/Burma are indeed blue (roundel blue iirc) as are the SEAC bands.
Although it's a bit hard to tell from the pics it looks like the Mossies in the Cocos Islands have PRU blue spinners, which would make sense if they're only partly repainted in silver.
