11 years agoFri Sep 13 2013, 05:35pmLevel 1Good day to all,
I thought it would be nice to immortalize with a skin in IL-2 the B-17F of one of the most famous aviation photos of WW2: All American
I have not been able to find an actual photo of the All American and it's nose art.
My other request is more fictional/Hollywood oriented: I would really like to have the Fictitious skin "Lucky Lass" of the B-17F from the 2012 film titled "Fortress". The full movie can be watched on YT and here is some reference material that I was able to find out there:
If anyone has any other photos of these birds, please do share!
Thanks!

Hi Dholter.
The pack will include one fully marked, blank, and a damaged version. Skins for the first request are ready. I'm currently also working on a small documentation about this aircraft and the incredible event that it endured. If I succeed I'll include it with the skins.
Hi Mick.
Yep, saw that ball turret thingy... and the new engine improvement, if only I had the guts to go through the ordeal of upgrading my ancient Sturmovik game
Thanks for the kind comments gents
Cheers,
eMeL

11 years agoSun Sep 15 2013, 09:59pmLevel 1That is a great idea Emel.
I also did some research on this aircraft of the 414th Squadron, 97BG and it is indeed a pretty amazing story. I read stuff like the crew using their parachutes to help keeping the fuselage together while leaping back home or that the 109 that hit them, hit the lead flight first ripping the wing off and causing it to crash.
Here is an interesting website of the 12th Air Force 97th bomb group:

If you want, I would be more than happy to help you with this research and provide documentation and photos that can be of interest.
Hi Mick, regarding Jeronimo's improved turrets, are they still WIP or are they finished? I looked for a download link but no joy..
Cheers -
11 years agoAdminThat's some outstanding faux 3-D skinning mate; the 'screenshot guys' should be all over this one. Nice work!
-
AdminMan, that's some fine looking 'damage' you've got going on there!
