Hi all,
I'm building some Philippines 41 coop missions. To fly into this war sky, we already have some great skins of A6M, G4M, ki27 and B17.
But its harder to find some P40s skins of pursuit group based on Luzon.
Here are some views of them:
I was also looking out of a RE2000 skin as a fake of P35. Both are quite similar. But no way. So maybe it could interest one of you...

AdminVpmedia has done a number of excellent early war P-40 skins. If I remember correctly one of them is a Pearl Harbour skin, that can be used for the Philippines too. I don't have a link, but I am sure the skins are available at M4T.

10 years agoSun Feb 16 2014, 08:17pmAdminThat's a good idea for a mission Pat, looking forward to see what you do with it.
As for skins, looking at the book Bloody Shambles vol 1, apparently the P-35s were painted by the time of the Japanese invasion in standard OD/NG with the meatball in the centre of the star (presumably with U.S. Army painted on the underside), and the same went for the P-40Bs and Es as well. From the photos it looks like the spinners and rudders were plain OD. -
10 years agoAdminThx guys for your interest.
@HBPencil: yes I think so. Certainly the artist couldn't resist to a shiny metallic skin! But maybe there were some like it but i'm not sure.
I just know that the last one B17 received their war paints from December 4th.
Here are some nice pics maybe you already know > http://corregidor.proboards.com/thread/447/aircraft-philippines-1-december-1941?page=1&scrollTo=2394
Some have roundels on the fuselage, others not.

AdminThanks for the link, I see what you mean about some P-35s not having fuselage roundels.
How soon would you like the P-35 skin? It may effect wether I use an existing template or make my own. -
10 years agoAdminI'm not in a hurry, do as you want.
Thx ! -
AdminHi Pat,
Sorry to take so long but I've finally got something for you. Until recently I didn't have much time for skinning, however a couple of days ago I started on this... I tried the only template I could find for the Re2000 but it was crap so I made my own, and here are the results:
As you can see I faked a reflection in the window of the passenger/luggage door, however I feel I've got a reasonable compromise.
Before I send it your way I've got a couple of questions:
1) Would you like a version without the fuselage roundels?
2) Do you want any other markings, such as the 4MP unit code?
Cheers,
HB -
10 years agoAdminIt's very kind of you, HBPencil, thanks a lot!
She looks great, congrats.
I don't want to make an excessive use of your time but I would like a version without fuselage roundels and with markings; I think it's morer immersive than when all birds have the same skin.
But don't care about if you can't, I am already very satisfied, thank you again ! -
AdminNo worries, it'll only take a moment to do so I'll email them to you soon.

Thank you M8 !
