BS456 UZ-Z of 306 (Polish) Toruński Squadron, RAF Northolt, November 1942. A Spitfire Mk IX converted from a Mk Vc airframe. A teardrop shaped blister for a Coffman cartridge starter can be seen just behind the propeller. This aircraft carries a 30-gallon "slipper" drop tank under the fuselage.

The Hodek Hk-101 was a Czechoslovakian twin-engined, two seat light aircraft. Two prototypes were built in 1947, but development was abandoned after the 1948 Czechoslovak coup d'état.

Located northwest of Karlsruhe, dependent on the region of the Bavarian Army Corps, the Landau prisoner of war camp had more than 1,077 prisoners on April 14, 1916. Among these prisoners of war, more than 855 were French. When the camp was liberated, French officers took charge of the administration of the prisoners, awaiting evacuation to France. A Siemens Schuckert fighter plane was abandoned within the camp grounds.

Consolidated B-24D 'Liberators' in Flight Over New Mexico.
The airplane nearest to the camera, B-24D # 41-24102, was lost in a fatal accident on 23 August 1944. The airplane suffered an in-flight fire of the number three engine after a propeller failure. The fire burned uncontrollably and the starboard wing exploded. The airplane crashed about 18 miles NW of the Army Air Field at Muroc, California. Five crew were killed and five were injured parachuting to safety, one seriously.
