    Savannah, Ga., July 1, 2026 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced two major milestones: The company’s next-generation G800 achieved the Gulfstream fleet’s 800th city pair speed record and then completed the farthest fastest flight in business aviation history.

    The G800 secured the 800th city pair speed record earlier in June with a flight from Reykjavik, Iceland, to Savannah. The aircraft traveled 2,973 nautical miles/5,505 kilometers in 5 hours and 52 minutes at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.91.

    On June 28, the G800 completed a separate record-setting mission from Melbourne, Australia, to Moline, Illinois. The flight covered 8,303 nm/15,377 km in 16 hours and 56 minutes at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.85.

    “With every new aircraft, Gulfstream continues to push the boundaries of performance for our customers,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “Reaching our 800th city pair speed record and completing the farthest fastest flight in our industry’s history demonstrates the strength of our next-generation fleet and the advanced capabilities of the G800.”

    Gulfstream aircraft have now achieved 815 speed records across the fleet, including 15 set by the G800 since entering service in August 2025.

    The G800 is designed for long-range missions, offering a range of 8,200 nm/15,186 km at Mach 0.85 and 7,000 nm/12,964 km at its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90. The aircraft can also fly 8,000 nm/14,816 km at Mach 0.87 and features a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935, allowing operators to maximize mission flexibility while maintaining optimal fuel-efficiency and operational reliability.

    The G800 features a low cabin altitude of 2,840 feet/866 meters when flying at 41,000 ft/12,497 m, 100% fresh air replenished every two to three minutes, a plasma ionization air purification system and 16 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows. The interior can be configured with up to four living areas or three living areas and a crew compartment, ideal for the ultralong flights the G800 can make.

    A new chapter for Canada’s Strategic Tanker Transport Capability project.
    The first new CC-330 Husky took to the skies in Getafe, Spain for its first test flight on July 2.

    This is one of eight aircraft being converted into the multi-role tanker transport configuration. It will support air-to-air refuelling, strategic transport, and aeromedical evacuation.

    The first flight is a key milestone in the production and allows teams to test the aircraft’s design and evaluate how it performs in the air, including its ability to operate safely.

    More testing lies ahead before the first aircraft joins the Royal Canadian Air Force fleet in 2027.

  • Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, July 7, 2026 — Boeing’s [NYSE: BA] MQ-28 Ghost Bat has participated in Exercise Valiant Shield alongside F-35A, F-35B, F-15EX, HC-130, E-3, E-2D, EA-18G, RC-135, and various other joint and coalition aircraft becoming the first and only collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) deployed to a multinational, joint operational exercise.

    During Valiant Shield 2026 in June, the Australian-developed MQ-28 Ghost Bat integrated with forces from the U.S. Pacific Command to support the U.S. Air Force’s Experimental Operations Unit’s CCA integration objectives.

    The aircraft participated alongside crewed platforms as they refined tactics, techniques and procedures around the Marianas Island Range Complex in the Western Pacific region. Such exercises are critical in ensuring the interoperability and interchangeability elements of MQ-28 and proving the ability to deploy and integrate into a joint force.

    “Having MQ-28 participate in such a significant military training exercise is a first, and this is just the start of demonstrating how advanced human-machine teaming extends the reach and awareness of crewed platforms and enhances joint force operations,” said Steve Parker, president and chief executive officer of Boeing Defense, Space & Security.

    “We’ve proven that it’s combat capable and now U.S. military, along with allied and partner forces, are able to test it first-hand and experience the value and advantage that CCA bring to the force mix.”

    As part of Boeing’s broader family of systems, MQ-28 has been developed using open mission systems and government reference architectures which allow defence forces to rapidly integrate sovereign payloads for their specific mission requirements. It is designed to team with 4th, 5th, and 6th-generation aircraft to enhance the capabilities of the entire fleet.

    At the NATO summit in Ankara, Türkiye, Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that NATO will begin formal negotiations with Saab regarding the acquisition of up to ten GlobalEye Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) systems.

    At this point, Saab has not signed a contract or received an order related to the announcement.

    NATO has identified the need to replace its existing AEW&C capability as part of a broader effort to modernise and strengthen the Alliance’s surveillance and situational awareness capabilities. The announcement by the NATO Secretary General confirms that Saab’s GlobalEye is NATO’s chosen solution for its future AEW&C capability.

    “We are honoured and proud to support NATO in its next-generation AEW&C capability. We are confident that GlobalEye is the right choice for the Alliance, delivering proven capability, adaptability and long-term operational advantage. Today’s announcement clearly positions GlobalEye as the world-leading solution for advanced airborne early warning and control. We look forward to the next steps in the negotiations,” says Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.

    GlobalEye will enable the Alliance to monitor vast areas of land, sea and air, significantly enhancing NATO’s ability to detect and respond to a wide range of threats. GlobalEye combines Saab’s Erieye Extended Range radar with an advanced suite of sensors and a multi-domain Command and Control (C2) system, on a Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft. As an AEW&C system, GlobalEye provides long-range detection with high update rates, capable of identifying low-observable and stealthy threats, as well as drones, ballistic and hypersonic missiles, even in complex environments characterised by heavy clutter and electronic jamming.

    Saab will now proceed to formal negotiations with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to secure a contract.

    New Delhi, India, July 7, 2026 – Embraer’s (NYSE: EMBJ; B3: EMBJ3) family of E-Jets has received Type Certification from India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The certification covers multiple aircraft from the E-Jets family, including the E190, E195, and the E195-E2, the world’s quietest and most fuel-efficient small narrowbody aircraft.

    The E-Jets is one of the most successful aircraft program in commercial aviation with more than 1,900 deliveries and continues to operate worldwide with more than 80 airlines across more than 50 countries. The E195-E2 has low operating cost and is the most fuel-efficient small narrowbody aircraft in operation today. It features a modern cabin with 2x2 seating with no middle seats, large overhead bins and individual passenger service units.

    The E175 is already type certified for India and is operated by Star Air. In February 2026, Adani Defence & Aerospace and Embraer announced an enhanced Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing a Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the E175 regional jet, aligned to India’s Regional Transport Aircraft (RTA) program.

    The next generation E195-E2 was triple certified by three key civil aviation authorities – the FAA (USA), EASA (Europe) and ANAC (Brazil) in 2018 and 2019 respectively. The E195-E2 is the most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft in operation today.

    “The E-Jets offers enhanced range of up to 7-hours and performance capabilities to operate from challenging airports with short runways or low pavement strength,” said Adity Shekhar, Regional Vice President, Sales, Embraer. “This certification enables us to support airlines expanding their networks and opening unique routes by tapping into ‘blue ocean’ opportunities that are too small for a large narrowbody or too far for a turboprop.”

    Embraer has a strong and growing presence in India, with nearly 50 aircraft across 11 different Embraer models currently in operation spanning commercial aviation, defense, and business aviation. Star Air operates a fleet of 11 Embraer E175 and ERJ145 aircraft.

    HMS Prince of Wales was buzzed by a large Tupolev Tu-142 ‘Bear’ maritime patrol aircraft, escorted all the time by two stealth fighters from 809 Naval Air Squadron, launched from the carrier’s flight deck minutes earlier.

    The encounter – which saw the Russians drop sonobuoy listening devices and also pass destroyer HMS Duncan – took place in the Norwegian Sea on the latest phase of the UK Carrier Strike Group’s Firecrest deployment.

    That phase built up to using a Queen Elizabeth-class carrier for NATO’s air policing mission, protecting Icelandic and Arctic skies against Russian incursions.

    It’s the first time the mission has been conducted from a European aircraft carrier – with the Lightnings carrying out patrols or standing ready to scramble to defend the High North.

    The jets – from 809 Naval Air Squadron, but flown and maintained 50/50 by RAF and Royal Navy personnel – have been safeguarding the airspace for the small Nordic nation.

    To date the NATO air policing mission has been carried out solely by aircraft operating from traditional air bases on land.

    “Air defence is a core role for the Lightning Force and having been accredited previously from land bases, it is great to see the capability expanded further to support our allies from an embarked environment,” said Commander Nick Smith, Commanding Officer of 809 Naval Air Squadron.

    “I’m incredibly proud of 809 Naval Air Squadron and the wider Carrier Strike Group’s achievements this week in completing NATO Air Policing validation.

    “The proving of communications links, command chains and standard tactics, techniques and procedures have all been demonstrated and we have once again proven interoperability with our NATO partners.”

    Iceland sits at the heart of a critical corridor between Greenland and the United Kingdom, through which military and commercial traffic passes between the Arctic and the North Atlantic.

    Keeping it secure protects the sea and air links that connect the UK and North America – and by extension the trade routes that underpin British jobs and living standards.

    Portsmouth-based HMS Prince of Wales and her escorting destroyer HMS Duncan can both track incoming aircraft at ranges in excess of 200 miles, while the ships’ fighter controllers direct the F-35s on their missions.

    The Russian Bear was also intercepted by Norwegian F-35A's.

    ANKARA, Türkiye – July 7, 2026 – NATO has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to expand its Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Force by pursuing acquisition of Northrop Grumman’s MQ-4C Triton aircraft. This action signals NATO's commitment to enhance allied maritime security and situational awareness.
    Four nations signed the LOI at the NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum.

    Working closely with NATO, the U.S. Navy and trans-Atlantic industrial partners, Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) would build and deliver the aircraft. Key European industry partners would deliver components of the ground station and supporting data processing infrastructure.

    NATO has operated Northrop Grumman's RQ-4D Phoenix (Global Hawk variant) from Sigonella, Italy, providing commanders with vital ISR data that informs joint decision making.

    MQ-4C Triton adds unmatched maritime surveillance capabilities and operates collaboratively with crewed platforms across domains through the intelligent, timely exchange of data.     In addition to providing uniform, high-quality application, the aircraft eliminates issues such as crop damage caused by ground equipment and the spread of pests through soil contact, among numerous other advantages. As a result, it can deliver yields of up to 15 bags per hectare, depending on the crop type and operating conditions.

    The Department of the Air Force announced that the B-21 Raider, the nation’s newest long-range strike bomber, will officially operate with a two-pilot crew complement.

    Additionally, the Air Force is establishing a pilot transition program for select weapons system officers and combat systems officers who will be chosen to attend pilot training with a follow-on assignment to the B-21. Eligible officers will be provided with additional information via command channels when available.

    Following careful analysis of the B-21’s advanced capabilities, Air Force leadership determined that a two-pilot configuration optimally supports the aircraft’s mission profile. To maximize the lethality and survivability of the Raider, it is imperative to retain the deep tactical and combat experience currently residing within the WSO and CSO communities.

    This deliberate talent management strategy secures the future of global strike capabilities, ensuring the Air Force remains postured to execute extended-duration, long-range strike missions in highly contested environments.

    Paris – Saint-Cloud, France, July 13, 2026 – Dassault Aviation and Harmattan AI today announced the successful execution of a collaborative in-flight engagement between a Rafale F4 and an unmanned aerial system equipped with the NAMIB payload, a new electronic warfare device jointly developed by both companies.

    NAMIB is an electronic warfare payload capable of detecting, identifying, and geolocating electromagnetic emissions, in particular those from air defense systems. It can be carried by tactical drones, including quadcopters, as well as by longer-endurance, fixed-winged unmanned aircraft. During the flight, NAMIB discreetly detected and precisely geolocated a radar located several dozen kilometers away. The target’s location was transmitted to the Rafale, which then simulated a strike on the target.

    The development of NAMIB, initiated in January 2026, is one of the key initiatives under the strategic partnership between Dassault Aviation and Harmattan AI, which aims to integrate advanced autonomous capabilities into the next generation of air combat systems.

    “This flight demonstrates the Rafale’s real and tangible multi-domain collaborative combat capabilities. The F4 standard architecture enables seamless communication with a very broad range of operational assets, including ground forces, allowing it to effectively leverage new capabilities, such as NAMIB’s electromagnetic detection and geolocation functions”, said Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation. “It also provides another illustration of the Rafale’s continuous adaptation to evolving operational requirements, and, in this case, to ‘high-low mix’, that is, the combination of highly sophisticated systems with autonomous and expendable effectors.”

    MIELEC, Poland, July 14, 2026 — In a milestone for European aerial firefighting and emergency response, PZL Mielec, a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT), has commenced production of Europe’s first Sikorsky S-70 FIREHAWK® helicopters. The aircraft are being manufactured for the Czech Republic Ministry of the Interior through a partnership with Česká letecká servisní (ČLS), a Helicopter Alliance (HA) company and United Rotorcraft.

    The FIREHAWK, a purpose‑built variant of the BLACK HAWK® helicopter, will enable the Czech Republic to launch rapid, all‑weather suppression missions from its home base and, through the European Commission's RescEU program, extend support to neighboring nations confronting ever‑intensifying wildfire seasons.

    Beyond the immediate tactical benefit, the program underscores Europe’s strategic move toward self‑reliant, high‑technology defense and civil‑security capabilities. The aircraft will be a permanent asset of the RescEU pool, enabling rapid cross‑border deployment whenever wildfire, flood or earthquake emergencies arise.

    “This production start is more than a manufacturing milestone; it is the first concrete step toward a continent‑wide, modern aerial firefighting network,” said Dr. Dennis Goege, vice president and chief executive for Europe, Lockheed Martin. “By delivering proven technology from a European supply chain, we are giving European communities a decisive tool to protect lives, property and ecosystems.”

    The program illustrates a seamless collaboration among PZL Mielec, ČLS and U.S.-based United Rotorcraft, who will be expanding its capabilities into the Czech Republic. The team at PZL Mielec’s state‑of‑the‑art facility in Poland assembles each BLACK HAWK airframe with the support of more than 1,200 local suppliers, sustaining roughly 5,000 jobs across the EU. United Rotorcraft will integrate mission‑specific firefighting equipment, conduct crew training and provide long‑term sustainment, ensuring that the Czech operators receive a turnkey solution that mirrors the operational maturity relied upon by U.S. agencies including CAL FIRE, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department and others.

    Six F-39E Gripen aircraft from the Brazilian Air Force took part in the multidomain exercise SALITRE 2026, marking the Brazilian fighter’s first participation in a multinational operation outside Brazil. In Chile, six Brazilian Air Force fighters were carrying out air defence, escort and patrol missions alongside aircraft from five other countries.

    Operating from Cerro Moreno Air Base in Antofagasta, Chile, the exercise brought together more than 1,500 military personnel from the participating countries and around 60 aircraft, which completed more than 250 flight hours across different missions on site.

    Alongside aircraft from Chile, Argentina, Colombia, the United States and Paraguay, the Gripen fighters were carrying out air operations typical of conventional warfare, with air forces operating under a single command and in coalition. The aircraft conducted escort, sweep, combat air patrol and air defence missions, both within visual range (WVR) and beyond visual range (BVR), employing their electronic warfare suite and tactical systems such as the active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar and the infrared search and track (IRST) passive target search sensor.

    “The participation of the F-39E Gripen in SALITRE 2026 represents another step in the evolution of the Gripen Programme in Brazil and reflects the steady progress of the aircraft’s implementation in the Brazilian Air Force. By operating for the first time in a multinational exercise outside the country, Gripen reinforces interoperability among friendly air forces and contributes to defence cooperation in the region.     In air defence missions, the F-39E Gripen aircraft were responsible for protecting allied aircraft against the simulated opposing force.

    “The situational awareness provided by Gripen E’s systems and sensors allows a large volume of data to be fused and presented to the pilot in a simplified way, supporting the decision-making process. In addition, we gain superiority by sharing this information among the F-39E aircraft in our flight, maximising our chances of victory,” said Lieutenant Colonel Vítor Bombonato, Commander of the 1st Air Defence Group (1º GDA).

    Preparation for SALITRE was carried out through exercises conducted just over a month ago in Brazil, with the participation of other Brazilian Air Force squadrons, as well as the creation of the Antofagasta scenario in the Gripen simulator in Anápolis.

    “Even though this was the first time Brazilian pilots had flown in this region, when we arrived here, the environment felt very familiar from an operational perspective. Another highlight is Gripen E’s range. We could have flown directly from Anápolis to Antofagasta, covering this long distance without the need for in-flight refueling,” concluded Lieutenant Colonel Bombonato.

    The Gripen fighters have completed more than 50 sorties and accumulated more than 100 flight hours, including the outbound and return ferry flights, with high availability rates.

    Bombardier Defense is proud to announce that its Global 6500 aircraft will support South Korea’s Electronic Warfare (EW) program. The Global 6500 aircraft was already selected to be the platform for the country’s Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) program.

    Korean Air recently formalized the purchase of two Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft for the Electronic Warfare program, and celebrated its collaboration with Bombardier Defense with a signing ceremony in Seoul.

    “The Global 6500 aircraft is in demand around the world because of its performance and versatility, and we’re extremely proud that it was chosen for two very advanced, yet different defense missions in South Korea,” said Michael Anckner, Vice-President, Worldwide Sales, Bombardier Defense. “This aircraft is trusted because of its proven military track record, yet it remains highly adaptable as defense needs evolve."

    Korean Air’s formal purchase of Bombardier Defense aircraft comes after L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) announced in October 2025 that the company received a contract to deliver modified Global 6500 AEW&C aircraft to the Republic of Korea Air Force.

    The two additional Global 6500 aircraft will perform an EW role, more specifically a Stand Off Jammer (SOJ) mission, which allows for the disruption of enemy electromagnetic signals from a safe distance.

    Monday the 13th July, a German P-8 Poseidon landed on Evenes for the first time. Germany received its first aircraft of its kind in November 2025, and the visit is part of a site survey to map options for carrying out or supporting its own P-8 operations from Evenes.
    The German delegation came from Marinefliegergeschwader 3 "Graf Zeppelin", stationed at Nordholz.

    Evenes has over time gained experience in supporting maritime patrol aircraft from several allies, among others American and British P-8, as well as French Atlantique. The visit is based on this competence and on the established cooperation Norway has with the United Kingdom within P-8 operations.

    - Over several years we have built a solid cooperation with several countries around P-8, especially with Great Britain. Now we want to develop a similar operational relationship with Germany, and share the experiences we have with operating maritime patrol aircraft in Arctic conditions, says Colonel Lasse Berg, Chief of the 133 Air Force.

    The Rafale is equipped with a new anti-drone combat capability.

    In less than eight months, the teams of the General Arms Directorate (DGA), in collaboration with Thales (CEAM), Dassault Aviation and CEAM AWC have developed, tested and validated the integration of laser guided rockets on the Rafale.

    From initial flight tests to representative aerial targets, this campaign has validated a cost-effective, efficient solution to address the evolving threat. This new capability will, for example, allow Rafale to shoot down Shahed drones with 68 mm rockets.

    A first operational capacity will be made available to the Air and Space Army by the end of July 2026.
    Deliveries of rocket launcher baskets, laser guided rockets and TALIOS laser marking pods with LADAC (anti-drone combat on combat aircraft) will start this July.

    SEATTLE, JULY 16, 2026 — Boeing [NYSE: BA], Lufthansa and Rolls-Royce will soon conduct flight tests of innovations meant to improve fuel efficiency and reduce noise.

    The Next Generation Inlet, a reduced-length engine inlet demonstrator with advanced acoustic treatments. The inlet enables the integration of more fuel-efficient engines onto future platforms, and reduces weight and drag while maintaining the acoustic performance.
    Modified departure and arrival procedures, including Intelligent Operations flight paths, which aim to reduce community noise around airports. These flight paths are algorithmically generated using multiple data sources to identify opportunities for fuel-efficiency and noise benefits.

    The testing, which begins later this month at the Boeing site in Glasgow, Montana, is being conducted on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner jet that’s serving as Boeing’s 2026 ecoDemonstrator Explorer airplane. This Boeing 787-9 is scheduled to be delivered to Lufthansa at a later date and features Trent 1000 engines from Rolls-Royce. The testing is expected to run through mid-August.

    From coast-to-coast, Canadians believe that wildfires have become worse over the last decade and they believe a federal investment in a national waterbomber fleet that can be accessed by the provinces when needed is essential to protecting Canada during wildfire seasons.

    The firm order, which follows the arrival of the first two fleet renewal aircraft at Airbus Helicopters in the UK in April for extensive policing customisation, comes under the original 2025 Framework Contract signed with the BlueLight Commercial procurement agency, which confirms Airbus as the exclusive supplier of helicopters for NPAS for up to six years.

    The helicopters are scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2028, and fall under the historic framework agreement signed between THC and Airbus at Verticon in 2024. The original framework agreement between THC and Airbus included up to 120 Airbus helicopters of various types set to be delivered over the next three to five years.

    The order reflects THC's disciplined approach to fleet optimisation and its forward-looking growth strategy. By planning deliveries across a structured two-year window, THC will ensure seamless availability for integration of new aircraft into its operations. The H145s will support THC's expanding range of services, including Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and other mission-critical operations across the Kingdom and beyond.

    Widerøe became the launch customer for ESP+ in 2022, initially enrolling 10 aircraft with options for an additional 10. With this latest commitment, the airline has now confirmed 14 aircraft in the program.

    ESP+ extends the service life of the Dash 8-100 from 120,000 to 160,000 flight cycles, giving it the longest flight-cycle life of any commercial aircraft.

    July 20, 2026 (Farnborough, United Kingdom) — De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (“De Havilland Canada”) today announced that Widerøe, Scandinavia’s largest regional airline, has signed an agreement to implement De Havilland Canada’s new Dash 8-400 A-Check Escalation Program across its fleet of 17 aircraft.

    Under the agreement, Widerøe will become the first Dash 8-400 operator to adopt the new maintenance program, which extends the interval between scheduled A-Checks from 800 to 1,200 flight hours. By reducing the number of routine maintenance inspections required, the program allows aircraft to spend more time in service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and airworthiness.

    Implementation of the program is now underway and is expected to be completed over the next 12 months.

    The longer maintenance interval will help Widerøe reduce aircraft downtime, increase fleet availability, and lower the labour and material costs associated with scheduled maintenance.

    FARNBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW – 20 July 2026 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has completed weapons testing for the Royal Air Force’s (RAF) Protector RG Mk1 Remotely Piloted Aircraft, qualifying both the Paveway IV laser-guided bomb and the Brimstone 3 air-to-surface missile for launch from GA-ASI’s MQ-9B aircraft. Testing was completed on June 18 at GA-ASI’s facilities in Southern California and marked the first time that GA-ASI has taken the lead role in completing weapons qualification for a customer. The qualification testing was conducted under UK Ministry of Defence approval and met all requirements for certification of the safe carriage and release of weapons.

    “The Royal Air Force is our MQ-9B launch customer and we’re here to support them in any way we can,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “Leading the qualification test was a unique experience and we’re excited to complete the process so successfully for the RAF.”

    The RAF Protector is based on GA-ASI’s MQ-9B SkyGuardian®. The Royal Air Force continues to take delivery of new Protector aircraft at their home at RAF Waddington.

    MQ-9B is the world’s most advanced medium altitude, long endurance Uncrewed Aerial System, and includes the SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian® models, as well as the Protector. In addition to the RAF, the MQ-9B is being operated by Belgian Defence, and the Japan Coast Guard, with orders from Canada, Denmark, Poland, Germany, India, Qatar, Taiwan, and the U.S. Air Force in support of the Special Operations Command.
