Just want to say high to everyone.Been into combat flight sims since Microsoft's first Combat flight sim. Been into it hard with CFS 3 since the beginning . Have 12 different installs of it now on my XP computer. Saving up for a new Windows 7 computer,(Velocity Micro Edge Z40,upgraded cpu,ram and video card). It is the best i could find that still offers Windows 7 64 bit and it's built in the USA. On my XP computer i'm reinstalling Il-2 1946.Haven't had it since it last crashed on me. I love IL-2 also. What are the latest versions since then? Found out some of the websites i use to go to are no longer around. I'm also installing Wings Over Flanders Fields,Rise of Flight,CFS3-ETO,CFS3-PTO Rising Sun on the Windows 7 computer. Will Il-2 1946 work with Windows 7 64 bit pro or do i need to reinstall it on my XP computer? Sorry for being so wordy. Thanks for any advice on this. Also is there a WW1 addon for Il-2?

Welcome to A&A, Il-2 runs just fine on Windows 7 Pro, just do not install under Program Files, unless you know how to take control of the files!!
First check which version you have on the load screen bottom left (4.07 etc)

i have Il-2 running well on windows 7/64 home premium. Apart from Duggy's advice the install may work by doubleclicking the a.exe
only instead of the il2setup.exe. Both can be found on your original game cd/dvd.
Here's a link to the Il-2 Megapatch which patches your game up directly to the latest version, which is 4.12.2m. Much easier and faster than installing each single patch:

The download maybe takes longer (2,16 GB).
If you got all the files doubleclick part1, which is an executable and will install all patches automatically.
