Main AdminNice shots. Are you using a 200 or 300mm lens?
-
AdminThanks Tailhook, I was using a 500mm Sigma on a CANON 450D, Shutter Priority Mode, ISO 100. I usually set my Shutter speed at 200 for props and 500 or so for Jets depending on the light. I'm just a beginner in Aviation Photography so still a lot to learn.
By the way, I thought I posted this thread under the General Discussion heading but I can't find it, I must have made a mistake somewhere. -

Yes, it takes some time to adjust and build skill. I have a 1000D and mainly use 500-1250 speed for typical stuff and 2000 for fast approaching. But that's just me and what I have been using lately.By the way, I thought I posted this thread under the General Discussion heading but I can't find it, I must have made a mistake somewhere.

If you did, someone must have moved it to Off-topic. -
AdminI have read quite a bit on Aviation Photography from several great Photographers in the field and all seem to use various speeds, priority settings and they all get great shots. If you ever get a chance look at the site of Victor Archer and Moose Peterson. I'm just lately starting to get my pan shots decent, At my age sometimes it's hard to follow a fast moving object without getting dizzy

12 years agoAdminNice timing on that T-bird shot Merv. I'm also amazed to see so many PT-22's in one flight. Looks like a great show.
Thanks for sharing your photos.
