BS456 UZ-Z of 306 (Polish) Toruński Squadron, RAF Northolt, November 1942. A Spitfire Mk IX converted from a Mk Vc airframe. A teardrop shaped blister for a Coffman cartridge starter can be seen just behind the propeller. This aircraft carries a 30-gallon "slipper" drop tank under the fuselage. -

Main AdminThis weekends extra.
Located northwest of Karlsruhe, dependent on the region of the Bavarian Army Corps, the Landau prisoner of war camp had more than 1,077 prisoners on April 14, 1916. Among these prisoners of war, more than 855 were French. When the camp was liberated, French officers took charge of the administration of the prisoners, awaiting evacuation to France. A Siemens Schuckert fighter plane was abandoned within the camp grounds.
