Great looking skins.
Do we have any maps in the game where Normandie-Niemen flew the Yak-1b? I have to admit, that I don't know much about the unit. -
No we have not. In 43 they flew over Orel and Smolensk with Yak 1b & 9t.
What is interesting with this squadron is that the piolts are all free French volunteers to fight in the USSR. It was very important for De Gaulle to assert his power against the Americans who rejected him.
Some were aristocrats, some other workers. At the end of '42, they were only 14 (3 survived). In 45, the GC3 was a complete regiment.The nazis treated them like mercenaries. No pow, the family of some has been executed.
Today their memory is still honored in Russia, much more than in France. -
