Do we have any maps in the game where Normandie-Niemen flew the Yak-1b?
I was wrong; yes we have !
The first war missions took place in March 43 from the Polotnyani Zavod base.
First victory on April 5 during a Pe2 escort mission for 10 yak1.Two FW 190s are down, a confirmed victory.
I am looking for additional information before a request that I let you guess. -
AdminYou are right. The problem when trying to build historical missions for the unit is, that the German Army had evacuated the Rzhev salient in March 1943, so after mid-march the frontline was outside the area of the Moscow map. Bomber or reconnaissance intercept missions might nonetheless be possible, if Normandie-Niemen flew this kind of missions in March/April.

I can not tell which Pe2 squadron escorted on April 5 and especially what was the purpose of the mission.
It is the same for the 190 confronted during this famous day. What squadron did they belong to? Were they on the cover of the objective or did the two enemy groups accidentally meet each other?
I hope to soon get answers to these questions but I have not found anything yet, at home or on the net.

AdminThe Fw-190 must have been from JG 51 or JG 54.
According to the link below, the combat happened between Roslavl and Smolensk:
