AdminHi all!
Quick update from me: I'm back from vacation, but didn't get to do hardly any skinning while I was gone- most of my free time was taken up by spending time with family or homework for my summer internship. However, today, i uploaded my generic Ki-44s:
I was having trouble submitting the pack as a single .zip, so as with the Ki-43s, I split it into two parts. I would have liked to include a couple more mottled skins, but as my mottling skills are somewhat lacking, and the skins had been languishing for almost a year on my hard drive because of it, I decided something was better than nothing!
This week will be a busy one, as I'm finishing my internship, but hopefully after that I'll have some more time to devote to finishing up some more skins! -
Nice work mate!

AdminThanks guys!
A few more of the things I've been working on lately:
I've been working on templates for the Bf-109 family for a looooong time, and I'm finally close to having one built for all of the major models (E, F, G-6, and K). These ones were made for my own use, just so I could have some consistent default skins, but if there's enough interest, I'll continue work on the template and maybe pump out a few generics!
and I also pulled out an older template just for fun:

12 years agoWed Sep 05 2012, 09:34pmLevel 1I love the work Jaypack! I included (credited in every instance I hope!) some of your skins in my campaign packages in the past. I really loved your templates and generic skin work and in many cases I was wishing those were the default skins for some of the Japanese types... really great work!
Love the Ki-44! -
AdminThanks Ice! I'm glad you've enjoyed everything so far!
Life has kept me busy and unable to skin for quite awhile, and so I don't really have much to show as of late. however, today I managed to find a few minutes (ok... hours...) of spare time, and decided to install a few new mods and do some dabbling. Here's the result of a good 4-5 hours spent this morning (I fear I may have gone off the deep end O.o)
My first 2048 template... and it's only after I made significant progress that I realized that even with the new high-res mod, my template doesn't work, because it's 2048x1024 instead of 2048x2048... Thus, I've had to scale everything down after exporting, and the in-game quality has suffered. Here's hoping Diving_Hawk will update the textures to 2048x2048 to make them compatible!
Here are some in-game shots- I still have quite a bit of work to do on the hull and deck, and I haven't even looked at the turrets or superstructure yet :/
Anywho, that's all for this update; hopefully all the stressful bits of real life will pass, and I'll be able to get back to doing some real skinning soon!

No offense to the navy guys here, but my first thought: "torpedo."

AdminWell, the Iowa has taken a back seat to real life for the time being- it's a much bigger project than I'd originally anticipated...
However, I've been playing a bit with some other templates, namely Phas3e's L-39. It's a great template; I barely had to do anything to it! I've mostly been playing with some modern camouflage schemes- it's fun applying schemes from other planes to this jet.
My first project was the Czech ALCA scheme- I think it's pretty cool, especially the low-vis insignia. It's missing the ALCA logo on the intakes and the Aero L-159 logo on the tail, mostly because I haven't found a suitable font or clear enough photo to replicate them.
Next was an Aussie Scheme, based on their F-111s:
And most recently, I discovered a number of schemes that the Germans experimented with on the F-4. I have yet to finish my template for the F-4 (mostly due to the amount of work it's taking to get the panel lines accurate- anyone know of someone with a full lines set I could borrow? and the fact that I'm doing the template in 2048, but my install fails to recognize the skins at that resolution...)
NORM 83:
NORM 81:
"Diskobomber"
"Milchkuh" (Milk cow)
"Polezeimuehle" (Police Car)
There are a few more in the works- I may release them as a themed pack once they're done. Anyone interested?
