2 years agoSun May 08 2022, 11:07amBoelckeMain Adminso, here it is:
Fw190D-9, WMr 600xxx, Black <||, Stab I./JG2, Frankfurt april 1945.
A mutch debated plane, JaPo publishing is allocating it to JG 2, whereas other sources claimed it a JG 4 bird. According to the explanations from JaPo publishing, i choosed JG2 as unit.
Thew plane was painted RLM 76/82/83 on the fuselage, the lower wing wtih W2 scheme. The upper colour isn´t realy clear, possibel is RLM 82/83 but more likely the high contrast scheme RLM 76/83.
The skin pack containes the black <|| skin and a generic.

2 years agoFri May 13 2022, 04:11pmBoelckeMain AdminFound some unusual painted MiMetall Doras ... first one:
Fw190D-9, WNr 500093, yellow 13, 3./JG26, Obgfr. Dieter Krägeloh, january 1945
The aircraft belongs to the first production batch from the MiMetall factory, which has been produced entirely in December 1944 (WNr 500001 - 500130). The plane was thrown into action shortly after being delivered to JG 26, with it´s ferry number still on the tail. Operation Bodenplatte was the first operational mission for Dieter Krägeloh with the Dora 9. He crashlanded after attacking the airfield of Grimbergen (Belgium).
The plane was painted RLM 76/02/82/83. It had a Junkers factory scheme with the straight demarcation line between RLM 76/02 and top RLM 83 colours. The lower wings with a W3 scheme and the upper wing surfaces with a RLM 82/83 camouflage which was completely conventional for the period.

Also EJG 1 and III. /KG(J) 27 got some.White 3 was found bellylanded in Denmark at may 5 in 1945. The name of the pilot is unkown. It is the only kown plane of this batch with the production number below the Hakenkreuz.

2 years agoSun May 29 2022, 02:57pmBoelckeMain AdminOne more MiMetall plane with the more typical paintings:
WNr 500698, brown 18 + -, 7./JG 26, belongs to the third and final production batch from the MiMetall factory. This third batch is sporting the late war Luftwaffe colours, as well asthe final evolution of camouflage techniques and methods.
This colourful aircrafts was one of three D9 that were surrendered intact at the airfield of Schleswig-Land (Jagel) on 5 May 1945.
It was painted with RLM 76/02/81/82 on the fuselage and the high contrast scheme RLM 76/81 on the upper wings. The lower wings are sporting the W2 scheme with RLM 76 and unpainted areas, without a dark leading edge. Interesting is the landing gear painted RLM 81 with the number 18.
