Level 1Hello everyone,
I've been following this forum (and the old one) since the beginning. So i t's about time I introduce myself officially and thank you for the work you've published through the years here and at other sites.
Until a few years ago I've worked with PS and CAD in an architects office so I'm well aware how much time and dedication go into every single skin, researching and skinning. Though I hardly release anything I've enjoyed creating stuff for myself for years now. A decade ago I started created some player skins for Counterstrike. Found one pack still available on the net
For about six years now, since I first became interested in flight sims I'm stuck with IL-2. If I've some times at hand normally a weekend a month I enjoy flying Hurris, P-40, P-47 and the Panther ground pounding
or creating or modifying skins or campaigns to my taste. Hardly anything that deserves a public release.
But for example Gaston found some pilot skins and awards worth to be included in his >> Swiss Campaign <<.
As I've been on sick leave for some time now (and I can't stand sitting around doing nothing) I've spent some time updating an old F9F campaign by Nixer for DBW and I'm working on some KTO skins to go with it. I've posted a question on a minor detail out of curiosity already
What I like about IL-2 besides flying and some nice explosions is the historic background behind well written campaigns/scenarios. Quite often I find myself reading about the events later on, fictional stories or historic accounts.
At the moment for example "The Fringes of Power" a diary of the civil servant and RAF VR pilot John Colville, who served as a private secretary to Chamberlain and Churchill during WWII.
So, thank you everyone for sharing your skins, experience and knowledge.
