Main AdminWOW

Main Adminvery impressive, but the made some small errors with the restauration of the paintings, it was common for III./JG 54 Doras that the Spiral was only on the tip of the spinner and a WNr 400 xxx has to have a much more dense motteling which was typical for a Fieseler build aircraft -

AdminI am not sure if 'restoration' is really the right expression in this particular case. Obviously they only just a small number of original parts. -

Level 1I have yet to see a good paint restoration on German fighters. The saddest piece of work was the repainting of D -13 that was owned by Champlin before sending it up to Washinton. There was a original scheme on it and it was
destroyed so that a very badly painted defensive scheme could be done to replace the original which had no major rusting. What buggers. Hey no one will ever know. -

Level 3Jurri and RDDR are right. Not so much a restoration as a one to one , life- size model. and with a poorly researched paint scheme intended to add spurious "glamour" to an aircraft which probably had a prosaic service history.
Lets hope the Dornier recently recovered from the English Channel doesn't suffer the same ignominious fate.
