12 years agoAdminThese skins weren't planned by me, they are an 'aside' production of my Me323 Cap Bon skinpack.
I created some of the schemes for making historical accurate screenshots of the 10 Ju52 accompanying
the gigants to tunisia on april 22nd 1943, before the Me323 suddenly seperated to set the fateful cours to
Cap Bon. However i liked the comparatively colourful paintscheme (blue emblem, red aircraft letters,
larger yellow tailcodes) and ad hoc decided to make another Tante Ju skinpack:
It contains 12 skins of 2./KGrzbV106 which became 10./TG2 on may 1st 1943. An additional Ju52 of the Stab/KGrzbV106 and six new MTO generics/nomarks are included.
Made with my overworked template their are more detailed and sharp.

Level 1Thanks for skinning these vital workhorses Armin.
I like to include lots of transports in campaigns, not just as targets but to illustrate the logistical operations that go on around the main action. I like to have the player fly them ocassionally too.
These beauties add so much life and realism. It would be nice to spend even more time with them, a transport campaign would be an interesting option for the hardcore pilots, especially if you go from Ju52, to Gigants and a few specials then end up in an Me262! -
12 years agoSat Apr 07 2012, 09:16amAdminHi Monty27,
thx for your reply, i'm glad you like these skins.
The Ju52 is still my favourite plane to skin and therefore always expect new skins. My aim is to cover all important theatres of WWII, the eastern front
will be next.
Didn't know the Ju52 is amongst the flyable inbetween.
Surely this would be a great campaign, i could assist you with historical facts and of course the accurate skins. You would have a lot of options in choosing units (and theatres) as the transport units constantly moved around and crews/aircraft switched units permanently. Units were disbanded and new ones hastily formed very often, filling up the constantly heavy losses with unexperienced crews/aircraft of the various schools and training units. (Poland 1939-)Norway&Western Europe 1940-Crete invasion 1941- Operation Barbarossa 1941-MTO/North african campaign 1941-1943-
Stalingrad 1942/1943-Crimea&Kuban 1943/1944-Battle of the Bulge 1944/1945...etc. - a lot of possibilities for a great campaign.
I./KGrzbV172 i. e. was a Ju52 unit who went through all those disasters...i wouldn't think of ending up with a Me262, just a pure transportflyer campaign (maybe with flyable escort fighters where they were historically available) wouldn't be just very unique - but quite challenging too!
Just think of missions briefings like: 'Drop paratroopers over crete and land on Malemes airstrip' - an airfield unexpectedly not secured in time under heavy artillery fire...same szenarios over Holland at the start of the western campaign.
'Fly the urgently needed supplies to the encircled 6th Army at Stalingrad' extremely bad weather/low visibility, russian
air superiority, lots of russian flak, (Pitomnik, later Gumrak) airfield under fire/bombing raids, desastrous conditions, again assigned to a new unexperienced crew, surprises like hastily abandoning an airfield (not briefed!) in the sudden sight of approaching russian tanks (i.e. Tazinskaya december 1942) daylight and night missions...etc.

12 years agoSat Apr 07 2012, 09:33amLevel 1You have to get yourself Dark Blue World my friend! We have three variants, including the floatplane all equipped with a beautiful cockpit, originally by Ranwers I think. She's a true heavy to fly but no slouch and can defend herself, so is a practical proposition for a campaign.
By ending up with an Me262 I was referring to transport pilots specifically recruited into I./KG 51 from June 1944 to May 1945 as the shortage of pilots meant that flyers were drawn from the other branches of the service.
However, your idea is better, tidier, stick to the Ju52 with a wide series of missions, sounds absolutely unique. Lets do it. I like to write a mission sequence first, to check all the facts I can, in a Word doc. I./KGrzbV172 is a great place to start and you have outlined a number of interesting events to highlight.
Feel free to send me any relevant notes and you can expect a fairly lengthy Word document from me in the near future. Help me fill in the details and we will build a unique campaign. I have to do something while I'm waiting for those Spitfires and other goodies for the BoB!

The DBW Ju-52s just got expanded payload options, perfect for our Ju-52 campaign!
* 3mg3e/3mg4e - Addition of loadout options:
- 4x special agents
- 5x cargos (1250 kg)
...and it already has Paratroopers.

12 years agoAdminGood news from the modding front Monty and Mick! Unfortunately i've made no progress in modding matters so far, work and other things are constantly stealing my time. However i lately managed to patch my game to 4.10.1. Better than nothing. Have to read all these things about modding first...
'Special agents' for the Ju52? Does it make sense? The cargo
option is great news - i never understood why this wasn't implemented
in the stock game so far. The luftwaffe transports oftenly dropped cargo
, i. e. at Stalingrad.
Thanks for your info
and
