11 years agoAdminI can't say I'm enthused about any "pay-per-view" title that requires additional fees for new planes, ala RoF; let alone an internet connection for updates and such. I enjoyed RoF somewhat, simply for the eye-candy when viewing the planes, but after a recent hard-drive re-install, it's no longer on my gaming rig... it was simply too clunky, for lack of a better term. I have the same beef with Steam titles, as I recently acquired Skyrim, only to learn that it requires an internet connection about every two weeks, in order to update the user credentials.. I can't even play Mafia II anymore (an older Steam title), without subjecting my defenseless (no anti-virus/malware proggies) gaming rig to the hazards of an internet connection. And where does this leave the poor sods aboard fishing boats, or working in the outback and such? .. best bring a good book
I think it would be refreshing to see a flight sim developer release a title that's all inclusive on the disk, just like the original IL2FB, and release additional content on disk as it becomes available. Although I suppose it's not as economically prudent for them, as releasing content over the internet. 'Ether beats factory', any day when it comes to costs I suppose. -
11 years agoSun Aug 18 2013, 08:41pmLevel 9... same with me, my gaming rig never goes on the internet, hence no anti virus ... and I am a pure offliner ...
So I'll wait until release and first reviews and players comments ... -
Level 9and now, meet the Friedrich ...
Don't you forget to activate subtitles ...

I think the paint is too shiny, since it is supposed to be matte (and it is not raining ...) -
11 years agoMon Sep 02 2013, 07:56amLevel 1Well it's the Rise Of Flight doctrine wouldn't it seem Mick? We give you the what is it,the the six in game and every couple of months a new aircraft is released for sale.
I think your going to see the Ju-52 and other planes
with the community organizing it'selve and having mass write In's. That will usually get their attention,
I don't think they want a repeat performance of CloD and the loss of finance. Just my opinion from what I've seen and read.
I really love where I'm at with IL-2 ATM. -
Level 1I'm pretty excited for this. I'll probably wait until it's released and see what others say about it before I purchase it, however. I just hope it isn't a flop like CloD. (I'm sure it won't be.)

Level 2Well. I realy do aggre with you.
Il2-46 for shore make a more realistk historical pitchure of both this, and the possibility to fly al the other battelgrounds during WWII. It has allmost al the AC involved, maps, and posibility to create the specific missons flown. The effects, skin,s, bulidings and ground forces, you name it. All awailable for Il2 -46 in all it's versions will proably make it very long living and difficult for new WWII-sim,s to compete with. For me i,m so happy for the way Il2-46 have developped and not at least the community development it has created, it dosen't seams to stop. Realy! My biggest problems are to catch up with al the uppdate and al new stuff popping upp every day for TFM, TNFM, 4.12 and more. All new campaigns that are released, all fantastic skins that are historical correct and so on. Il2-46 still provide me with all the eye candy I need and more..So I will be very late and critical to install a new sim on my rigg.. Have CoD very clear in mind...
That,s me.

AdminMaybe this is interesting for skinners:
I wonder if they will release multi-layered templates and not just the simple templates we got in the old Il-2.
