Delta Air Lines has taken delivery of its first A350-900, and will be the first U.S. airline to operate the newest member of Airbus? leading widebody family. The A350 XWB will bring unrivalled eco-efficiency and a superior passenger experience to primarily transpacific routes starting in October.

Today?s delivery is the first of five A350-900s scheduled for delivery to Delta in 2017. The aircraft features 32 seats in the Delta One cabin, 48 seats in Delta Premium Select and 226 seats in the Main Cabin.

The A350 XWB was the first aircraft to incorporate the innovative passenger experience elements collectively known as Airspace by Airbus. Delta?s customers will enjoy the quietest twin-aisle cabin, with more personal space and the largest overhead bins in the business. More fresh air, LED ambient lighting, and optimization of cabin pressure, temperature and humidity all combine for absolute passenger wellbeing.

The A350 XWB also boasts the latest aerodynamic design, carbon fiber fuselage and wings, and the fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. This combination of technologies translates into unequaled operational efficiency, with a 25 percent reduction in fuel burn and emissions, and significantly lower maintenance costs.

To date, Airbus has recorded a total of 847 firm orders for the A350 XWB from 45 customers worldwide, already making it one of the most successful widebody aircraft ever.

The world?s most advanced aircraft, the Airbus A350-900, will visit the international aviation and space salon MAKS in Russia from the 18th to 23rd July in Zhukovsky. The A350-900 flight test aircraft, MSN002, will take part in flying displays and be on static for cabin visits on 18th and 19th July.

MSN002 features a distinctive carbon fiber livery illustrating the use of more than 50% advanced composite technology on the world's most-modern widebody jetliner. The aircraft is one of the two used to test all cabin related topics and was part of the certification campaign in 2014. Currently, MSN002 continues to be used for flight testing.

To date, over 90 A350s have been delivered to 13 customers worldwide. With 851 firm orders from 45 customers, the A350 XWB is one of the most successful widebody aircraft ever.

The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis today met members of the Royal Air Force 135 Expeditionary Air Wing based in Eastern Romania.

After speaking with pilots and ground crew, President Iohannis said : ?I?m impressed because in my opinion everything that is going on here has a very high professional standard and, I?m most impressed because everybody and I mean absolutely everybody told me all of you work very well together and this really makes me proud of the teams we have here.?

The Royal Air Force has four Typhoon aircraft deployed in Romania to enhance air policing capability as part of the NATO Assurance Measures introduced in 2014

Air C?te d?Ivoire, the Ivory Coast?s flagship airline based in Abidjan, received its new A320 at a ceremony that was held at the Airbus Delivery Centre in Toulouse on Monday 17 July. This ceremony was jointly presided over by Didier Evrard, Airbus Executive Vice President Programmes and General Abdoulaye Coulibaly, Chairman of Air C?te d?Ivoire?s Board of Directors.

Air C?te d?Ivoire had already chosen the A320 family because of its exceptionally comfortable cabin, low operating costs and excellent fuel consumption performance. It already operates six Airbus aircraft (four A319s and two A320) in the framework of a leasing contract. Air C?te d?Ivoire operates 25 different domestic routes in West Africa and Central Africa.

The cabin of the aircraft being delivered today is configured in two classes (16 business class and 132 economy class seats). The business class offering provides an unbeatable level of comfort with the new ?Celeste? seat provided by Stelia Aerospace, while the economy class provides a high level of service, particularly in terms of the lighting system and internet connectivity.

Air C?te d?Ivoire currently flies to 20 international destinations located in West and Central Africa, and to five domestic destinations.

This milestone aircraft is part of Philippine Airlines? purchase agreement announced on December 8, 2016 ? which included a firm order for five Q400 aircraft and purchase rights for an additional seven. Following the exercise of the purchase rights announced at the 2017 International Paris Air Show, Philippine Airlines now has firm orders for 12 Q400 aircraft.

FORT WORTH, Texas, July 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft fleet recently exceeded 100,000 flight hours while the F-35 Integrated Test Force teams are completing the remaining requirements in the program's System Development and Demonstration (SDD) phase.

"This 100K milestone marks a significant level of maturity for the program and the F-35 weapons system," said Lockheed Martin Executive Vice President and F-35 Program General Manager Jeff Babione. "We are well positioned to complete air vehicle full 3F and mission systems software development by the end of 2017."

The remaining development flight testing includes validating the final release of 3F software, F-35B ski jump testing, F-35B austere site operations, high-Mach Loads testing for both the F-35B and F-35C and completion of the remaining weapons delivery accuracy tests.

Major SDD fleet test milestones in recent months include:

Completed testing for the F-35A's final envelope involving high risk 'edge of the envelope' maneuvers, stressing the aircraft to its limits in structural strength, vehicle systems performance, and aerodynamics while proving excellent handling qualities.

Completed all U.K. Weapon Delivery Accuracy tests for the AIM-132 ASRAAM and Paveway IV weapons, and completed 45 of 50 SDD Weapon Delivery Accuracy tests including multiple target and multiple shot engagements as well as internal gun and centerline external pod 25mm gun accuracy tests.

Performed multi-ship mission effectiveness tests, such as Offensive Counter-Air and Maritime Interdiction, demonstrating the performance of the F-35 System.

Three distinct variants of the F-35 Lightning II will replace the F-16 Fighting Falcon and A/OA-10 Thunderbolt II for the U.S. Air Force, the F/A-18 Hornet for the U.S. Navy, the F/A-18 and AV-8B Harrier for the U.S. Marine Corps, and a variety of fighters for 11 other countries, to date. Following the U.S. Marine Corps' July 2015 combat-ready Initial Operational Capability (IOC) declaration, the U.S. Air Force attained service IOC in Aug. 2016 and the U.S. Navy will IOC in 2019.
