11 years agoLevel 1hey all,
I go by GrumpyBadger pretty much everywhere. I was referred here by "SchwarzeHund" on the Mission4Today boards. I'm really looking forward to skinning and once I get past my little SNAFU (stand by for thread in WIP section) I'll be making skins like crazy!
basically, just want to say that no, I'm not a bot, and yes I'm happy to be here

11 years agoLevel 1thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I'm really glad that "SchwarzeHund" directed me here! I'm also excited to see HBPencil here too.
You've all already been a HUGE help to me, and I can't wait to start contributing here! -
Level 1Hey there, Grumpy!

10 years agoLevel 1Hey all, have an update for you!
hey all,
so, thanks to my dear CWatson (in the best Sherlock Holmes voice I can muster),
I now have a plain vanilla version of IL-2:1946. 4.07m blah blah blah.
He also graciously helped me out with a wonderful "mod pack" with all the mods, planes, etc that I could want.
BEST NEWS!!
I got MY laptop back. It's a Toshiba, with an AMD E-350 Processor, with 3GB of RAM, and an AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics Card.
cons
it has Windows 7, 64bit, Home Premium
Now, I bought this laptop before I ever thought of gaming on it. I just wanted it for my CAD/CAM software and graphics stuff like GIMP.
and it runs all of those, like a CHAMP!!
sorry it's been like forever, I know
but at least now we've got something to work off of.
again, thanks everyone for the help already, and I'm really looking forward to sharing, and helping with skins and stuff, because this laptop, as I said, LOVES GIMP lol
right now, I'm working on getting my first version of the game up to 4.09m
then I'll make a copy "IL-2MODS"
and update that to 4.09m and add the SAS MODACT
then I'll make a third copy "IL-2ONLINE"
that I'll update to whatever is required for Airgroup51 who graciously accepted me into their wing so to speak back in December!
BUT
the big news is, I'm back. I have a system that runs GIMP like a champ, and so far, playing just IL-2:1946 4.07m on the highest graphics settings, it had a frame-rate of over 70fpm at its slowest!
so finally, I'm back!
sorry it took so long

AdminGood to see that you're up and running, IIRC you had a P-40 on the go or will you start on something new?

10 years agoWed Apr 02 2014, 08:06pmLevel 1Heya HB.
I had a P-40, she's on my girl's laptop, so I'm trying to figure out a way to transfer it, realistically I'll just e-mail it to me, if that'll work.
the good news is in the off time, I've gotten more proficient with GIMP itself. Now it's just applying that to skins, and I still want to finish that P-40 first
