Test #6. Colours lifted directly from this photo:




I know its a bad idea to lift colours from a photograph, but thats the clearest one I saw in google search.

BTW, I also found an article saying that that particular Typhoon was being shipped to Canada, likely to the museum in Ottawa.

I wont take this any further other than to say,if you lick that photo
anymore your gonna get sick.

I've made another colour test. I think after this one I'm just going to stop listening to you and just go with whatever I think looks best. Trying to match greens and greys with 70 year old faded photographs just isnt my thing, nor should it be the thing to do. I manipulated some of the photos in Duggy's thread to remove the yellowed ageing effect from them and got completely different shades of the DG/OG/MSG scheme. Plus if you look at the last photo in Duggy's first post, you can see that OG appears very blueish when compared to the other photos. So between the paint stocks at Hawker, Gloster and the field units you get so many variations that it does nothing more than give me a headache.

After all this, even without having seen Emel's template, I do think I will go with this combination here:



Fits the best to my eye, given the limitations of the game engine, and my patience.

I think I found your green.


I wont tell you where I found the HEX code for that variation of green, though. It would be too surprising.

I thought we were having a good bit of fun. That rarely happens on other sites.

I told you I was prepared to let you know the moment it was ready.

I took the six aircraft I was working on and put them on the sideline.
I thought and still do that your a very good artist but I'll be damned.
This is our site and we try to always go a little further as you can see by the work here.and we never ban people over a difference of opinion like that idiot that runs a Il-2 site over in the UK, however the work we release often takes many hours of work


I think the last green sample is as close as your gonna get.
I also think it will work and that I have some important things to
finish up as I spent a good number of hours yacking with you, and having a great time.
By the way, the color you found was the color on the original sloppy template I dumped and I'm glad I did,
as it just wasn't good enough,and I didn't know what I now know

Oh dont get me wrong, I was having fun too. But all this talk of and playing with greens and greys is making me go cross eyed.

I think I just need to step back from it for a bit.

You'l have that template as soon as Marcus gets back. He PM'd me and said He would Upload ASAP.
I think you will be happy as there is so much to work with color wise.
