The B-25 from Sole Survivor

My latest project is the B-25J Mitchell from the 1970 Made-For-TV movie Sole Survivor, based on the story of the "Lady Be Good". It's really hard to figure out the details, as the plane was covered in sand to make it look like it crashed 17 years before the movie takes place (Which I think is 1958/9, considering it's early style markings, so it should've crashed in 1942/3). I did find this great picture of her noseart:
I will need help doing the weathering. She's an MTO bird. I don't want it to look as weathered as in the movie, of course. I also need help with the noseart, the one from the picture doesn't "work". -
Before you ask, the pictures are at night because the plane was lost during a night raid, when it got damaged and turned back still under attack. The navigator panicked and bailed out, leaving the rest of the crew lost (They later jumped out on a raft, confusing the desert floor with the Mediterranean Sea). Anyway, I give you 41-30257, A.K.A. "Home Run":
The late pics were supposed to represent the plane as it rests in the film, but it's impossible to get the tail to break off without looking like that. Again, I need help with the noseart and weathering. Please? -
If no one else offers then I can redraw that nose art this weekend or possibly on Friday (NZ time). As for the weathering, that's something for your wip thread I believe.
