I have heard so much about the Yak-3 and how fantastic it is.... It is a fine airplane, but the LA-7 seems to have it all over the Yak-3.. Dives better, is just as, or more, maneuverable than the Yak-3, it's more durable, faster, and has the added bonus of a small fighter-bomber capability..... So what's all the hype about the Yak-3?, and why is the LA-7 so overlooked?

Hello sturmvogel I think the Yak was built especially for maneuver combat and was definitely at ground level and low Lavochkin better than minimal climbing and cornering. Everyone had something to be better at low altitudes and in Lavochkin medium.Gerhard Barkhorn said the yak was the best Russian fighter.Pilots of Normandie Niemen chose YAK and had a choice.So much for Real in the game IL2 I tried both, yak I got weaker with weapons than LA7, but climb and maneuverability, better than LA7

Il-2 is a small community, considering you posted this same topic over at M4T a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks Duggy... I just want people here to have fun with what I call.. "The wonder of flight"......... Many folks dream of it, but never get into the air...These vids are all for them.... Flying is something I've done since I was six, and to know that SO many people can't do this due to resources or money, really tears me up..... I always wanted to be a fighter pilot...just was too dumb at Math in the peacetime regime.... I became an M1A1 Tank Commander instead......but my eyes always go up whenever I heard a fighter inbound.... This is a great site and I apologize for inadvertently breaking any rules.... I DO know that I have NO knowledge as how to present videos the way you do, but thanks for posting these in such a professional manner......
