The Republic XF-103 was an American project to develop a powerful missile-armed interceptor aircraft capable of destroying Soviet bombers while flying at speeds as high as Mach 3. Despite a prolonged development, it never progressed past the mockup stage.

The second XB-47 prototype(46-066) first took the air on 21 July 1948, and was equipped with much more powerful GE J47-GE-3 turbojets with 23.54 kN (2,400 kgp / 5,200 lbf) thrust each. The J47 or "TG-190" was an improved derivative of the J35 / TG-180. The first XB-47 prototype was later retrofitted with these engines.

Flyer Command Iraq (German: Fliegerf?hrer Irak) was a unit of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) sent to Iraq in May 1941 as part of a German mission to support the regime of Rashid Ali during the Anglo-Iraqi War. The mission was part of a larger effort to gain support in the Middle East for the Axis Powers against the United Kingdom and its allies during World War II.Fliegerf?hrer Irak was to consist of a squadron of Messerschmitt Bf 110 zerst?rer heavy fighters (12 aircraft) from the 4. Staffel/ZG 76, and a squadron of Heinkel He 111 bombers (12 aircraft). In addition, to assist in transporting the force to Iraq, Junck was lent 13 Junkers Ju 52/3m trimotor transports and Junkers Ju 90 four-engined transport aircraft.
