Operation Moolah was an effort by the US government to pay $100K to any defecting MiG-15 pilot. Its pilot, Lt. No Kum-Sok defected to Kimpo Airbase, South Korea, in 1953.This photo depicts '616' during 11 days of testing at Kadena Air Base, Japan, immediately following the defection.'616' now resides permanently in the USAF Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The aircraft is on display in its original North Korean Air Force markings.

On 7 April 1952, F-BATB of Air France was damaged beyond economic repair when it overran the runway on take-off from Le Bourget Airport, Paris. The aircraft was operating an international scheduled passenger flight from Le Bourget to Heathrow Airport, London.


Delivered to Air France in March 1947 and making the Languedoc's first type visit to Manchester Ringway in place of an unserviceable Douglas DC-3. Sold to Aviaco as EC-AGU in May 1952.
