12 years agoMain AdminI did research the pilot, but found no details.
Hard too say if fatal or not, the human body can take a lot of punishment.
Regards Duggy. -

12 years agoMain AdminDue too the fact, we lost a lot of posts, when we upgraded forums.
Some of these I have posted before, but deserve showing.
Anyway this week a factory fresh P-51H
Regards Duggy -
AdminAn early one, too, (P-51H-1-NA) with the short tail! My guess is it's a NAA publicity shot since it looks a lot like similar ones taken of other Mustangs.
P-51H serial numbers started with 44-64160, so 44-64164 would be only the 5th one made! -
12 years agoMain AdminOne of my favourite photo's.
A factory fresh B-29A.

12 years agoMain AdminTwo this week of a very famous B-17, currently being restored,

AdminOdd fact about this plane. Instead of being named for a person, there's a person named for this plane!!
Swoosie Kurtz, daughter of USAAF Colonel Frank Kurtz. Col Kurtz helped put the original Swoose together from parts of two planes during the dark early days in the Philippines with the 19th BG. He later commanded the 463rd Bomb Group in Italy and flew a plane named...what else, The Swoose (1944 Model)!
