12 years agoMain AdminThanks Simon, I fell in love with the B-29 as a young boy, when I built the "1/72nd scale Airfix Kit Eddie Allen "
Anyway this week two.
Of a 318th P-38 being tanked up before its mission to Okinawa.
The P-47's did not have the legs!!
Regards Duggy

12 years agoMain AdminClose call for a B-17 crew as an AA rocket just misses !!
-
12 years agoAdminDifficult to judge the trajectory at that angle, but it appears the rocket might have flipped off-course when it hit the Fort's slip-stream. Either that, or some lucky gunner made the shot of his life. Amazing that the photographer managed to grab such a shot.
Thanks for posting mate! -
AdminI can't imagine the feeling of relief when they saw that thing missed!

Level 1Hey Duggy, Looks like someone has cut out a passenger seat behind the pilot, and they've added a Malcolm Hood.
I remember discussing this with you and I knew you were looking for it.
Never thought it ever existed...Sure you could count the number created on one hand.
Cheers, RDDR -
12 years agoMain AdminYes its another one?, I had been searching for.
Next is too find the Gladiator used on D-Day,with those stripes.
The "Holy Grail" of aircraft !!!!!!!! -
11 years agoMain AdminThree this week, which remind me of this !!
"Every one already knows the definition of a 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. But very few know the definition of a 'great landing.' It's one after which you can use the airplane another time."
Regards Duggy -
AdminNice pics Duggy, thanks... however my attempts to come up with some cheesy pun about planes on the plains ain't working!
