12 years agoSat Jul 07 2012, 05:56amLevel 9THX for your kind words Rudi,
I also have a TrackIR (5) and no conflict with UV3 at all, as for my puter it is way inferior to yours (Intel E8400 oc 3,45 Ghz, GTX 260, 4 GB DDR2, XP) and everything is running smooth, so I really hope you will somehow manage to fix your issues because UV3 really is something ...!!
Cheers

Main Admin@Mick:
i didn?t find a readme which was mentioned in the SAS thread, so one question about installing.
I downloaded the SFS file version and mounted it in the rc file. So far so good. What about the sfs sound files from UP and DBW? Is there a need to remove some of them or will they work together with Tigers files?

12 years agoSat Jul 07 2012, 10:35amLevel 9Jeez mate the readme is included in your download, I know about it because I am the one who translated it from French ...
Hope you noticed there are 2 different DL links, each containing different folders ...
Anyway here it is especially for you mate ...

Main Adminmany thx Mick, but i swear that there is't a readme included, it's a rar file with two sfs files, per haps you will check it
-
Level 9... then you missed the second link with the included readme + the very important jsgme folder without which you won't be able to use UV3 ...

12 years agoMon Jul 09 2012, 06:10pmLevel 1Chris laughing.....Happy Monday Boys!!
Last week Monty and I experimented with putting UV3 in
my JSGME after removing several small conflicts.
I have to say that these sounds are the best WWII
aircraft sounds I have ever heard both inside and out. For me it's like a brand new start.
That flyby .......MY! Try four FW190A's on a overhead pass.
All The Best Tiger. This mod is nothing short of brilliant mate.
Cheers,RDDR

Tiger's UV3 is a true killer ... :drinks: -
12 years agoTue Jul 17 2012, 01:35amLevel 1Congratulations Mick, on your work with Tiger33, very impressive.
As Chris said a real 'Game Changer' - So brilliant and beautiful there is no going back, this sound mod brings Il2 into the 21st century and makes everything else out there look lightweight and insignificant.
However, at present we have one small issue, having tested thoroughly on a clean DBW 1.71:
The flyby sounds disappear over the Moscow and Leningrad winter maps. A small thing but the new sounds are so good it hurts to get a problem like this.
It seems that I am not alone and several sources confirm the same finding.
Choices - While accepting that I have to live with it and still enjoy great sounds everywhere else, I can't help thinking about:
a) What component of a map could do this?
b) Can the earlier un-compressed flyby mod help us solve the problem?

12 years agoTue Jul 17 2012, 11:08amLevel 9THX for your kind words Monty,
May be you know it but I only fly MTO misions, especially a certain Monty's ones, so I don't have that disappearing flyby bug, may be they just freeze because of the cold ...??
More seriously, there is an unsolved mistery hidden somewhere in the stock game since for ex none of us could ever get flyby sounds with the stock FW190_N1 mission, I tried every trick in the book, replace the FWs by BF109s, delete the IL2s, delete all vehicles and Flak ... but to no avail ...
Since Tiger was using that very stock mission as a test one and got no flyby sounds he thought UV3 was bugged and spent a whole week tweaking java class files and what not before he realised it was the stock mission that prevented the flyby sounds from being played ...
As for your question " a) What component of a map could do this?" I am sure Tiger would give his shirt to know the answer ...
and question " b) Can the earlier un-compressed flyby mod help us solve the problem ?" I sent Chris the UV2 flyby sounds for you to try, but since I have a totally uncompressed (not in SFS format) UV3 and still get the bug with FW190_N1 mission ...
But of course this doesn't prevent you from giving it a try and report back please whenever you get a fix ... !
EDIT :
Tiger himself posted this today at C6 regarding the Moscow bug mystery :
