Level 1Thanks Mick, I would like to try them, along with some non-standard map re-builds, see if we can identify the rogue. Either way though it is still a quantum leap.

Level 9... I don't know (but I wrote some had the same bug with Leningrad at C6) I'll give the winter Leningrad map a try as soon as I can grab my furcoat ...

Level 9OK, gave it a try and my flyby sounds work like a charm above winter Leningrad, which is both good news (I don't have that bug so may be other guys don't have it either) and bad news 'cause the flyby mystery is thikening then ...
Since I was flying above those freezing parts I also gave a try with the Moscow map and ... no flyby sounds there ...
How in hell can a map prevent SOUNDS from working ....???? -

I suggest the reason your flyby sounds work over winter Leningrad is that you are using a FINSGULF repaint, is this the case?
RDDR and myself have determined that the loss of flyby sounds can be fixed, by fixing the maps. Our idea was that the original Russian winter maps, being quite an old part of the original game, do contain some coded obstacle preventing the new flyby sounds from working properly.
Somehow, when map-makers package new un-compressed maps for a texture repaint, the sound bug is cured! It may be something to do with the game loading order and forcing the maps to load in this way.
Therefore, if you are running a re-painted mapmod you get full Tiger33 flyby sounds on that map. - Remember: This issue ONLY applies to the four original Russian winter maps, all other maps are OK.
Since there are no re-paints available for the Moscow Map we needed to do a little fancy coding and sure enough, we have the sounds over Moscow now!
I have pm'ed Ramone at SAS, who inspired the fix with his Stalingrad Winter re-paint. As his topic has not been commented on for several months and his last post was a month ago, we have decided to release our fix, with the proper credits, in the form of a #DBW compatible JSGME addon, here at Axis and Allies.
We shall also put the information and fix over at SAS1946.com.

Level 9Yep you're right Monty, I was using a repainted Leningrad map, it now looks like Istvan (vpmedia) has just pinned down the faulty missing line in Moscow load.ini :
WaterNoiseAnimStart = Water/Animated/WaterNoise00.tga
If you add that line you get flyby sounds but lose icy rivers ... -

Level 9... funny enough, I was the first one to find the culprit two days ago ...
"May be you know it but I only fly MTO misions, especially a certain Monty's ones, so I don't have that disappearing flyby bug, may be they just freeze because of the cold ...?? "
