Level 7I think I'm going to use cloth simulation this time.
Here's a small update. I've tweaked the reflection and got rid of some of the strange artifacts plaguing it. It's still way too shiny almost glass like. Also I've beveled and smoothed all hard edges, particularly the chest armor edges. You can see the difference between the left and right figure. On the left one the reflection now works nicely around the edges of the armor.

Level 7Neither can't I if I may say. Originally these were ment to be a small project to fill the content area of my err webprotfolio still in wip. But now I'm beginning to widen things. I'd like to create an additional short animation, a demo reel I guess it is called. I have two ideas for the storyline. They have a comical approach, but I wont say more of that for now.
Apart from minor fine tuning both characters should be ready for the next phase: Rigging (making an object fully controllable for animation). It is the crucial moment for me as it will show whether I did good my 3d models or failed. A lot can still go wrong but I'm confident so far. If I should succeed the rigging process, then its painting time again for me. I can't wait to see Luke's uniform with additional wrinkling and suitable staining and 'weathering'... whoa weathering, that was beginning to sound very familiar.
Wish me luck guys,
Cheers,
ML
