AdminThe rumors that have been around for some time are true and 1C is cooperating with 777 Studios to develop the next Il-2 game, which will use the same engine as ROF.

-
AdminI am not sure what to think about all this. In contrast to CloD, ROF has a stable game engine, although it remains to be seen how well it will work in a WW2 scenario.
But I have to admit, I am not a big fan of the ROF business model, and the games mission editor is much less user friendly than the one in the old Il-2, it is not even possible for users to create their own campaigns, only single player missions.

Main Adminah yeah, the buiseness model ... well that?s realy bad ... paying for each new plane

11 years agoMain AdminInteresting development, there will be a lot of speculation about this, for sure.
Best just to wait & see.

AdminLooks like modded IL-2 will be with us for a looooong time!

11 years agoSun Dec 16 2012, 02:49amAdminAlthough I hardly ever play RoF I must admit I'm kinda excited about this BoS. More than once I've been flying about in RoF and wondered how good it'd be to see the same in a WW2 setting. If they give us a better mission editor and some decent offline content I'd certainly be interested in buying it. Who knows, it may become another creative outlet for us.

11 years agoLevel 3C'mon you grumpy old Scrooges - this will be great!
A) it actually works
it looks good
C) there is at least some decent offline content
D) just buy what you want to fly. I like to dabble in a few things in il2 but basically I would just need the 109's.
E) their plans seem to based on reality and what is achievable
F) the developers actually interact a lot with their customers (though I wonder how long that'll last) -

11 years agoTue Dec 18 2012, 03:56pmLevel 1For one, I'm not a grumpy old scrooge, however I have
a distaste for person that tried to offer me a job with 666,Whoops !! it's 777.Sorry.
I had the The iron cross edition and was not impressed at all as it was difficult and clunky to set up. It cost 50.00... After it sat on my desk for a long time I just er!! put it away
The modders and skinners have done a much better job on improving everything, and as old as it might be it is the best of the
best ..
That's just my take after about 11 years .
I have edited this post as I feel that I was out of line. A bad day.
My Apologies, Chris
