Level 2Beautiful Shots Mate thanks for sharing Merv

AdminVery cool, and that shiny P-40 looks awesome. Out of curiousity, what's the radial engined bird in the last pic?
-
AdminThanks guys for your more than kind comments, HB, sorry it took so long to reply, the radial bird is a Seversky AT-12 Guardsman. I'm glad you liked the polished metal shots. Thanks

Level 3Great photos, but over-restored aircraft. Skinning digital AC is an art form, "skinning" the real thing is at best deception and at worst a crime. I wonder what the real history of the T Bolt was? Who were the guys who really flew her? I wonder what they would think of not being considered worth remembering.

AdminAn interesting idea Wingco and in some ways I agree with what you're saying as there're warbirds painted in schemes other than their original scheme because the new one looks cool or is popular (FHC's P-40 is a good example).
But on the other hand there are others that wear a scheme that was never theirs because there might be no record of what they originally wore or because its history is very limited. For example, the recently restored Mosquito FB.26 KA114 went straight from production into storage and never flew until last year, so personally I don't feel it's a bad thing that it was painted in war time colours.
I guess it just depends on the individual aircraft.
