It's a great patch, stayed up way too late last night playing around with it

Bad timing by Team Daidalos, I am away from my gaming PC till next week.

This patch is the one that got me back from my DBW- and now that they've already cracked it, it looks like it won't be too long before I get all my favorite mods back!

Some of my favorite things so far:
-the new effects are, for the most part, awesome, particularly the tracers and hit effects.
-realistic rocket dispersal!
-fires and hit effects actually give off light
-persistent speed bar changes (so I don't have to toggle it at the beginning of every mission)
-static plane skins (finally!)
-new ship wake textures
-all of the new flyables and new planes are pretty cool!

I'm still experimenting and finding more and more that I like... just waiting for the jets to be updated to be compatible!

Must say I was pleasantly surprised by the ricochet effect and the H-75 is a great ride, taking her up against a Ki-43 is a lot of fun.
Have you guys had any success with adding sounds? I've been trying with some of Jafa's engine work and am having mixed results; I got his Allison stuff working (so now my P-38, P-39 and P-40s sound awesome!) but I can't get any others to work. This evening I'll give tiger33's stuff a try.

Obviously some rework was necessary to make it fully compatible with 4.12.

Just got the modact up and running- it's nice to have the full plane list available again! However, I've also discovered my new least favorite thing: the improved AI... it's showing me just how terrible my flying really is! I used to be able to take a wildcat up against eight zeros, and come out with 8 kills completely unscathed four out of five times... now, the new AI is showing me all of my old bad habits... you have to keep a close eye on your six, even against the rookies!

I guess the pro of it is I'll have to learn some real combat flying skills in order to keep up!
