10 years agoMain AdminMarietta, Ga., May 15, 2014 ?The 61st Airlift Squadron at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, received another C-130J Super Hercules airlifter on May 15.
Lt. Gen. Brooks Bash, vice commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, ferried the aircraft from the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., facility in Marietta, Ga. Bash is a command pilot who has logged more than 6,500 flight hours throughout his career.
The 61st, which has operated C-130s since 1956, is part of Air Mobility Command's 19th Airlift Wing.

10 years agoMain AdminBoeing Delivers Air Canada's First 787 Dreamliner
Earlier this week Boeing delivered Air Canada's first 787-8 Dreamliner (C-GHBQ - LN 160) in Everett.
She will remain in Everett until May 18th, when she is flown to Air Canada's base in Toronto.
Air Canada becomes the nineteenth airline to fly the Dreamliner.

10 years agoMain AdminOklahoma City, May 12, 2014 -- The U.S. Air Force has introduced into its B-52 fleet the first aircraft upgraded with an advanced communications system, developed by Boeing [NYSE: BA], that keeps the bomber ahead of emergent threats while improving aircrew safety and situational awareness.
The Combat Network Communications Technology (CONECT) modification adds to the B-52 several communication data links, full-color LCD displays with real-time intelligence feeds overlaid on moving maps, a state-of-the-art computing network and the ability to retarget a weapon, or mission parameters, in flight.

Artful, the latest state-of-the-art submarine in the Astute class has been launched in to the dock at our site in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
The 97m long, 7,400 tonne nuclear-powered attack submarine began edging out of her giant construction hall on Friday 16 May and was carefully lowered into the water on Saturday 17 May.

Boeing [NYSE: BA] celebrated a milestone achievement today on the 737 MAX program, surpassing the 2000th order for the super-efficient single-aisle airplane. With the addition of 30 orders from unidentified customers this week, the 737 MAX now has a total of 2,010 orders from 39 customers worldwide, valued at $209 billion at list prices. The 737 MAX also has commitments for more than 250 additional airplanes.
The 737 MAX has reached 2,000 orders faster than any other Boeing airplane in history.

10 years agoMain AdminAn RAF Eurofighter Typhoon and RAF Spitfire perform a flypast during the unveiling of the commemorative D-Day Eurofighter Typhoon jet at RAF Coningsby on May 21, 2014 in Coningsby, England. This year commemorates the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings on the 6th June. The attack saw more than 156,000 Allied troops storm the beaches of France and eventually led to the Allied liberation of France in 1944.

Everett, Wash., May 21, 2014 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] and EVA Air today celebrated the airline's first double delivery as the airline received its 16th and 17th 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes. Both airplanes, pictured here at the Everett Delivery Center, also helped mark Boeing?s 25-year partnership with EVA Air. -

Boeing [NYSE: BA] has delivered the fourth P-8I maritime patrol aircraft to India on schedule, fulfilling the first half of a contract for eight aircraft. The aircraft departed from Boeing Field in Seattle and arrived May 21 at Naval Air Station Rajali, where it joined three P-8Is currently undergoing operational evaluation.
