Why isn't there a public download section like there was before?After all the Who Ha over at SAS about them removing their skin section I thought it was mentioned that this sight was going to be made user friendly for the average Joe to upload his or her skins.

The downloads section on this site IS available to the public. The forum however, is available to registered members only.

Gumpy, we said we were making our downloads area user friendly (because people didn't like the forum layout), not public.

I did say that we MIGHT look into it and it appears that some people obviously read to far into the conditional tense. The public section before was used very infrequently and to be honest, flightsimfiles provides a public are for people to host files. This new system means that all skins uploaded here have to be hosted on our server, where as before you could link to external sources.

Okay thanks for the info.How does a guy go about getting the correct permission to upload to the sight then?Because when I click on upload it says I don't have that ability.

You have to be one of the core members here (Somebody who's name is on the banner). How to get that? Post frequently, show determination to always improve and strive for accuracy.

We are fully about supporting our members who support us. It's not about being the best, It's about a group of friends that help each other that. Achieve that, and you'll be able to upload here.

Ah, I just realized what you meant by 'Public Downloads' section after looking back at the old forum. Adding that type of section would be up to Rock and the others. Certain public downloads may just be added to the actual downloads section since some of them are already being hosted on the webserver.
