I./StG1 was the only stuka unit in the Norway campaign and twice attacked the British aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious in the Mediterranean sea. The carrier was heavily damaged and out of action until may 1942.

As part of III./StG2 the 7.Staffel was heavily involved in action during the Western Campaign, the BoF and the BoB.
Amongst their many missions were bombing raids against Fort Eben Emael, the British evacuation fleet at Dunkirk, Portland harbour, convoy Peewit and Tangmere airfield.
