thanks to my laptop hard-drive croaking and now using my lady's... I don't have IL-2 to play.
I have a HUGE favor to ask - do the SBD-3/4's in IL-2 4.12.2m or even HSFX 7.02 if ya got it, have 3 radiator flaps or 4? The template I have has 4 shown. However, I've looked at quite a few of the real thing - definitely 3.
any help would be much appreciated. It's the three flaps behind the cowling I'm looking at:
here's what I'm talking about on the skin, it's in the right corner

10 years agoSun Apr 27 2014, 02:17amLevel 1Maty!! Thanks so much bud!
the SBD-3 above that I have is an ANA-608 early bird. It's the same colors for 1941-early 1943. It should look a lot like my Wildcat (same colors) when it's in-game. It's ANA-608 topsides, and ANA-602 (I believe, I'd need to reboot GIMP to check) for the bottoms. Whichever it is, it's the same as the Wildcat. However, I added a "filter" I thought was nice - a nice slate granite. Gave amazing texture, so that'd be the difference in shade.
you're a life-saver! I'm going to be wicked busy for the next couple days, but come Monday or so, I should be able to get back to the SBD. Worst case, I'll be back on it Wednesday.
as a "reward" here's a link to my current SBD-3 -

it goes to my google drive, download the link and you should be good to go! It is 1mb 1024x1024. Let me know what she looks like! Thanks for all the help bud. Let me know what you think about it.
right now, all I'm getting from my Airgroup is ... literally lol they're no help. -
Level 6You're very welcome, Grumpy. Also, those pictures were with your skin.

wow! That's awesome. I didn't know those were with my skin. Sweetness. I'll save these pics ASAP to my pinterest to study. Thanks for that Maty!
Do you think this is too grey then? Versus the Wildcat with no "filter" ? I mean those WWII in color definitely prove it's a "blue-grey" on top!

Level 6No, it's perfect, man. The previous ones reflected the light too much and had too many rivets, but the latest one's just beautiful.
-
10 years agoLevel 1thanks Maty. I'll be working on the rivets next. Right now they aren't even on the skin. Basically, for the "tests" I always start with lines and rivets at 100%, then turn them way down from there to what looks good.
thanks bud, really appreciate the support and critiques.
