  • 617 squadron will deploy to Afghanistan later this year to relieve 12 bomber squadron also based at Lossiemouth. This will be the final deployment for the squadron as the RAF have announced that the famous Dambusters will be wound down once they return from their final tour in Afghanistan until the RAF's new fighter jets arrive in three years time.

  • That's an interesting camo on F-15 LN 0178. Resembling those early haphazard green patterns applied on some of the early olive drab B-17s? Thanks for sharing.

  • Emel, that's actually been the standard F-15 camo scheme since 1989.

The lighting must have been just right to make it 'pop' so well, though. Usually the two colors blend together much better.

  • Okay, good to know. Thanks for the information. I'm not an expert on Jet fighters. That camo just stuck out, and I thought it looks cool.
