Have played with this game for 8 years i think and just found out this: In the IL2 manual it say's you can
change photo shown in the Pilotrooster. The text in the manual points to the files in the Dgen folder in the main install folder. Thats allright! I can see all the pilot photo's here.
But how do you use any of these file's to acctually change the photo shown in the pilot roster.
The manual do not explaine that..any one know how?

Yes mate, your personal photo has to be a bitmap called 'PHOTO.BMP' and it sits in the DGen folder. It matches best if you sepia tone it a little and the colour layers have to be reduced to 256. This is my latest one, from 2009, taken off the phone, turned into a JPEG, toned down and converted to a bitmap. To get the right size, paste it over a copy of an existing pilot bitmap in one of the country folders, but make sure it actually ends up in the DGen directory.



Even freakier, you can put your face onto a pilot in game. I had this feature for many years but haven't tried it since I got Barnseys new pilots.
